     James Grant Abbott was born circa 1866 at Illinois.¹ He married Pauline Mitchell, daughter of Emor Hawkins Mitchell and Emily Sophia Reynolds, on 9 May 1899 at Piatt Co., IL. James Grant Abbott lived on 19 April 1910 at 915 Barber Avenue, Little Rock, Pulaski Co., AR, Occupation: Carpenter.¹ He died on 3 March 1954 at Mattoon, Coles Co., IL.      Jennie B. Abbott was the daughter of Martin Abbott and Ellen (?) Jennie B. Abbott married Harry Z. Price, son of Jacob E. Price and Mary Emma Ziegler, on 17 August 1892.¹

     Jessie Mays Abbott was born on 4 August 1901 at Corydon, Harrison Co., IN.¹ She was the daughter of Benjamin F. Abbott and Martha K. Gibner.¹ Jessie Mays Abbott married Steven H. Ashton. Jessie Mays Abbott died on 5 December 2000 at Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY, at age 99.

     Joseph Madden Abbott was born in August 1887 at Ohio.¹ He married Grace Lena Tower, daughter of Marion Tower and Mary Elizabeth (?), circa 1909.¹ Joseph Madden Abbott died on 25 April 1933 at age 45. He was buried in April 1933 at Grand Island Cemetery, Grand Island, Hall Co., NE.
Note: Joseph Madden Abbott was clearly a grandson of John Bennett Abbot (1805 - 1879), because he is listed as "nephew" of Moses Abbott (1844 - 1915) with whom he was living in Sheridan County, Nebraska as of the 1900 census. In addition to Moses, a couple of the other documented sons of John Madden can be eliminated as possible fathers of Joseph, including Amos, whose three living children are all accounted for in the 1900 census, and Asahel, who had a son Madden J. Abbott, b. MAR 1887, listed in his family as of the 1900 census. Notwithstanding the similarity of names, and the common birth year of 1887, Madden J. Abbot married to a lady named Cora who was born about 1891 -- clearly a different person than Grace L. Tower. DLB 2015.

     Joseph Merle Abbott was born on 17 October 1914 at Adams Co., NE. He was the son of Joseph Madden Abbott and Grace Lena Tower. Joseph Merle Abbott married Lydia E. Hoffman. Joseph Merle Abbott died on 2 December 2002 at Adams Co., NE, at age 88 Obituary (from findagrave.com):

Joseph Merle Abbott, 88, died Monday, December 2, 2002 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. Joseph was born October 17, 1914 in Hastings, Nebraska to Joseph M. & Grace (Tower) Abbott.
Joseph graduated from Hastings High School in 1933 and attended Hastings College for 2 years. On May 23, 1936, he married, Lydia Hoffman and she preceded him in death in 1994. During his professional career as a civil engineer, he lived in 10 different states and 25 different cities. He retired after 45 years in Bryan, Texas in June of 1977. He returned to Hastings, Nebraska in 1982. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Masonic Rite #317, A.F. & A.M., and Scottish Rites.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Lydia.

He was buried in December 2002 at Grand Island Cemetery, Grand Island, Hall Co., NE.

     Kurtz J. Abbott was born on 14 May 1917 at Lapeer Co., MI. He married Berniece Margaret Bird, daughter of Milan Lundy Bird and Louise Anna Gottenmeyer, on 7 February 1948 at Flint, Genesee Co., MI, Kurtz was previously married to Genevieve Harris and had a daughter, Dolores Maryetta, (1942-2000), who first married John Jackowiak, Jr. and had five children, then married Michael Stout. Kurtz J. Abbott died on 9 November 1991 at Flint, Genesee Co., MI, at age 74. He was buried in November 1991 at Davison Cemetery, Davison, Genesee Co., MI, Findagrave #185931792.

     Lucille Abbott married Herbert V. Sonner, son of John Sonner and Mary Ann Sibert. Lucille Abbott was born on 17 December 1896 at Harrison Co., IN. She was the daughter of Benjamin F. Abbott and Martha K. Gibner. Lucille Abbott died on 2 February 1964 at New Albany, Floyd Co., IN, at age 67. She was buried in February 1964 at Kraft-Graceland Memorial Park, New Albany, Floyd Co., IN, Findagrave #161131984.

     Margaret Abbott married Martin H. Miller, son of Emanuel E. Miller and Elizabeth R. Holsinger, on 1 April 1909.¹

Mary Emily Abbott married Julian Maurice Hawthorn McGill in August 1957 at Hillsborough Co., FL. Mary Emily Abbott died on 11 December 1984 at Tampa, Hillsborough Co., FL, at age 79.

     Mary Thomasine Abbott was also known as "Minnie". She was born on 8 April 1869 at Santa Clara, Santa Clara Co., CA. She married John Franklin Walton, son of John Bice Walton and Mary Elizabeth Benson, on 2 September 1888 at Selma, Fresno Co., CA. Mary Thomasine Abbott died on 25 December 1908 at Mountain View, Santa Clara Co., CA, at age 39.

     Nettie May Abbott was born on 18 October 1867 at Newark Twp., Licking Co., OH. She was the daughter of Salma Hale Abbott and Mary Ann Bline.      Salma Hale Abbott was born on 20 October 1825 at New Hampshire; son of ?? and Patty (Hale) Abbott. He married Mary Ann Bline, daughter of Jacob Bline and Elizabeth Frederick, in 1852. Salma Hale Abbott died on 4 August 1876 at Crawford Co., IL, at age 50

ABBOTT -- Died, in Crawford county, Illinois, August 4th, 1876, Salma H. Abbott. He was born in New Hampshire, October 20th, 1825, and came to Ohio in the fall of 1837; was married to Mary Ann Bline in 1852; died August 4th, 1876, in his 52nd year. He united with the Lutheran church in the winter of 1856, and lived a devoted member of the same until his death; and died as he had lived, in the faith of his Redeemer. He was a kind father and a devoted husband, and was loved and respected by all his neighbors. He leaves a wife, four children and a large circle of friends to mourn his loss, but they do not mourn as those who have no hope. A.K.A.
