He was born March 29, 1940, in Lebanon, to Ivey Mitchell Forner and Nadine Long.

On June 6, 1964, he married Norma Devault.

He was a maintenance worker and of the Pentecostal faith.

Survivors include his wife, Norma, of the home; a daughter, Vickie Ratliff, of Lebanon; two brothers, Bob Forner, of Vancouver, Wash. and Charles Forner, of St. Joseph; a sister, Geri Green, of Lebanon, also other relatives.

Services for Hildred Forner will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2006, at Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church across from the airport. Burial will be at a later date under the direction of Thieme-Shadel Funeral Service at Colonial Chapel of Lebanon.

Surviving are two sons, James R. (Susan) Kline, of Gilmer, Texas, and Thomas W. (Linda) Kline, of Durango, Iowa; a daughter, Helen Kay (Rodney) Whitman, of Clearwater, Fla; and nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Timothy Kline; a granddaughter, Deborah Kline; three brothers, John, Burton and Arnold Forney; and a sister, Helen Denlinger.

Claude Leroy Forney, 79, of Hanover R. 2, died at his home Tuesday.
He was the son of the late James and Missouri (Wine) Martin.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ and Sunday school. He had been a farmer in his early years. Then he was a contractor for 15 years, prior to becoming a road supervisor for West Manheim Township for 24 years, retiring in 1966.
He is survived by his wife, Florence (Saltzgiver) Forney of Hanover R. 2; a son, Levere Forney of Union Bridge, Md; two daughters, Mrs. Louise Williams of Hanover R. 2; and Mrs. Shirley Mickley of Abbottstown R. 1; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10 a.m.at Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover, with the Rev. Carroll Luckenbaugh, officiating. Interment will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover. Friends may call Thursday evening at the funeral home.

Rev. D. L. Forney

LA VERNE, April 29 -- Rev. D. L. Forney, 82, of 2259 4th street, La Verne, retired missionary, passed away suddenly at 6:15 o'clock this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Virgil Kindy, in Visalia. He had been in the Kindy home for some time, since Mrs. Forney became ill and was removed to San Diego to stay with her daughter there.

Mr. Forney served two terms as a missionary in India with his former wife, Anna Shull Forney, who died in 1938. He was married May 4, 19__ to Ellen Heckman Wagner, also retired missionary to India.

Survivors are Mrs. Forney, three daughters, Mrs. Kindy, Mrs. Cosner of Waterford, and Mrs. Helen Brooks of Anklesvar, India.

     David Franklin Forney was born on 1 February 1845 at Heidelberg Twp., York Co., PA. He was the son of Abner Wirt Forney and Louisa Ann Wortz. David Franklin Forney began military service on 15 June 1863 Civil War, Coporal, Co. I, 26 Pennsylvania Emergency Regiment, mustered out 30 July 1863 after the Confederate invasion of Pennsylvania; re-enlisted 14 July 1864 as a private in Capt. Sanno's Independent Cavalry Company of Pennsylvania, discharged at the expiration of his term of service.

Painful Accident - We learn that Mr. David Forney, son of Abner Forney, Esq., residing on Baltimore Street, met with a very painful accident on Thursday last, the 21st inst. It appears he was engaged in splitting wood in a shed attached to his father's residence, and whilst in the act of splitting a piece the axe struck a beam or plank overhead, and glancing off descended upon one of his feet, inflicting a frightful wound. Surgical aid was immediately procured, and he is now doing as well as the circumstance of the case will admit of.

David F. Forney Answers the Last Roll Call -- Was ill for Some Time.

David F. Forney, an esteemed citizen of Hanover, died at his home, No. 807 Centennial avenue, at 7 o'clock this morning, from a complication of diseases. His age was 68 years, 3 months and 21 days.

The deceased was a son of Abner W. and Louisa Forney, well-known citizens of Hanover, and he is survived by a widow, three sons and two daughters, Misses Bertha and Irene, at home; Raymond, residing on West Hanover street; William, living in Penn Township and Claude, of Omaha, Nebraska. He is also survived by his mother and one sister, Miss Lucy Forney, of Baltimore street; also, one brother Ezra Forney, of Penn Township, near Hanover.

During the year 1874 he was married to Miss Annie M. Thomas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Thomas, of Hanover, and then engaged in farming on the homestead farm, near the borough limits. About ten years ago he relinquished farming, and moved his residence to Centennial Avenue.

Mr. Forney was a veteran of the Civil War, and a member of Major Jenkins Post, No. 99, G. A. R. He first enlisted on the 15th of June, 1863, as corporal of Company I, 26th Pennsylvania Emergency Regiment, and was mustered out of service, July 30, 1863, after the Confederate invasion of Pennsylvania. July 14, 1864, he re-enlisted as a private in Capt. Sanno's Independent Cavalry Company of Pennsylvania, and was discharged at the expiration of his term of service.

Funeral, Saturday, May 24th, services at the house at 2 p.m., conducted by Rev. A. M. Heilman, of St. Matthew's Lutheran church, assisted by Rev. J. W. Glover, of the Methodist church. Interment on the family lot in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

He was buried in May 1913 at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, York Co., PA.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth Cosner of Riverbank, Edith Ott of Westlake Village, John Cosner of Modesto and Steven Cosner of Fresno; and 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Cosner; and children, Marie Ingerman, Ruth Kaler and Rachel Phillips.

A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Modesto Church of the Brethren, with burial at Turlock Memorial Park. No visitation.

Skinner, circa 1905, 1910 census (April) shows married 5 years.1 Edward J.
