Hershel Lloyd Frase, 69, of Casa Grande died March 4, 2006 during surgery at Nebraska Heart Institute in Lincoln.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Simes Mortuaries Casa Grande Chapel. The funeral there will follow at 11, with Paul Julian officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery. A memorial service also will be held at 2 p.m. April 8 in Hastings, Neb., at South Street Church of Christ.
Mr. Frase was born March 18, 1936 in Oshkosh, Neb., to Thomas and Vera (Law) Frase. He served in the National Guard¹s military police division. He was a carpenter for most of his life and worked in construction in western Nebraska and eastern Colorado. He moved to Casa Grande in 1988 and worked in school maintenance until retiring in 1999.
He married Pauline Mitchell in 1967. Faith, family and a sense of humor were important in Mr. Frase¹s life. He was known for his kindness and was very proud of his family. He attended New Beginnings Church of the Nazarene in Casa Grande and Church of the Nazarene in Sun City.
Survivors include his fiancee, Glenda Crick of Hastings; a daughter, Theresa Julian of Hastings; seven sons, Jim of Aurora, Colo., Dale of Fort Lupton, Colo., Jerry of Commerce City, Colo., Robert Bonds of Glenvil, Neb., Hershel Jr. of Casa Grande, Ken of Hastings and Tom of Harlingen, Texas; four sisters, Barbara Fisher, Maxine Frank, Verneta Weir and Jeanie Dixon; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Pauline, infant son Billy, infant sister Velma June and older brother Charles.
