Elmer Weidman had a life insurance policy that expired only a few weeks before his premature death due to blood poisoning. Without income, Anna was forced to sell the farm and moved the children in with her brother Adam Fulrath at Fulrath's Mill, where they lived for about ten years. After that time, she moved again, this time in with Elmer's brother John Weidman on Chicago Avenue in Savanna. They lived in his household for some ten years.

Note: Moved west from Chambersburg in 1862. George Fulrath was also known as Johann Georg Fulrath. He was born on 22 May 1828. He was the son of John Fulrath and Margaret Harr. George Fulrath immigrated in 1855 to To Chambersburg, Franklin Co., PA. He married Margaret Seipel on 3 September 1857 at Chambersburg, Franklin Co., PA. George Fulrath died on 16 April 1915 at age 86.

Note: He was born in Hesse Darmstadt in 1842. He came to the US in 1849 and lived in Franklin County, PA for 8 years. Then he went to Carroll County in 1857. In 1864, he went to California and was employed by Wells Fargo for 8 yrs driving the stage coach. He had the Carson City, Strawberry Valley and Donner Lake route to Virginia City. He went by the name of "Honest Dutchman". Robbers attacked his stage, with 18 passengers at "Devil's Gate", and got $75,000 in gold coins and then released them. He returned to Carroll County and farmed 120 acres. He was also a School Director and Roadmaster. He married Rachel A. Irvine from Lancaster County, PA in 3/1871. George Henry Fulrath was born on 30 October 1842 at Darmstadt, Hessen (now Germany). He was the son of John Fulrath and Margaret Harr. George Henry Fulrath married Rachel Anne Irvine in March 1871. George Henry Fulrath lived in 1880 at Mt. Carroll Twp., Carroll Co., IL, also farmed near Savanna. He died on 22 August 1916 at age 73.
