J. M. Gentry
M, d. after 1911
J. M. Gentry married Mary E. Windell, daughter of William H. Windell and Sarah Jane DeLong, on 11 April 1911 at Ross Co., OH,
According to the Ross County marriage record, this J. M. Gentry was the son of W. M. and Elizabeth (Potts) Gentry. No person with this name is found in Ross County public records of that time. There was an Elizabeth Potts (1827 - 1912) who married William Marion Gentry on 15 NOV 1855 at Chattooga County, Georgia. They had a son, John Gentry, born about 1859, as listed in the 1860 census, Broom Tow Valley, Chatooga County. This appears to be the same family listed at Mulberry, Franklin County, Arkansas as of the 1870 census, with sons John, age 12, and James, age 10. One of these sons could have been the J. M. Gentry who married Mary E. Windell in 1911, although how either of them ended up marrying in Ross County, Ohio is very difficult to imagine, given that they appear to have lived most of their adult lives in Texas. Whoever the J. M. Gentry was, this marriage appears not to have lasted long, as a June 1913 newspaper article about Mary's daughter Bessie Toops' marriage, names Bessie's mother as "Mrs. Mary Toops of Vine street". Mary (Windell) Toops is found living in the Athens Ohio state hospital for the insane as of the 1920 census, where she died in 1921.
J. M. Gentry died after 1911.

Margaret F. Gentry Golden - July 2, 1917 – February 23, 2011
Our Mom was born July 2, 1917 to James H. Gentry and Lenna B. Franklin in Kansas City, Missouri. She grew up under difficult circumstances and hard times in both Kansas City and Winfield, Kansas. In 1935, at the age of 18, Mom went to stay with her sister Dorothy in Plainview, Texas. She worked selling tickets in the Granada Movie Theater, which was owned by her sister's husband. A man named Tom saw her in the ticket booth and said "That is the girl that I'm going to marry". Mom and Dad were married January 16, 1938 in Winfield, Kansas. In 1939 Gary was born into the family and in 1941 Barbara was added to the family. Gary developed severe asthma in Plainview, Texas and the decision was made to move to an area more suited to his condition. In 1944 the family moved to Colorado. After a brief stay in Canyon City the family ultimately settled in Salida where Dad was employed by the forest service, the police department and later the railroad. The family grew as Tom Jr., Peggy and Rodney were added. In the late 1950's Dads railroad job brought him to Grand Junction where they settled in as long time residents. Dad and Mom retired in 1973. As health declined Mom and Dad lived near family in both Utah and Colorado. Our Dad preceded Mom in death in 1998. Our Mom passed away on February 23, 2011 at the age of 93. Margaret is survived by her children, Gary Golden of Salida, CO; Barbara Dafoe of Delta, UT; Tom Golden of Bridgeport, WA; Peggy Barron of Grand Junction, CO, and Rodney Golden of Grand Junction, CO, and a great host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held for Mom at Nickle Mortuary, 190 S. Center St. in Delta, Utah on Monday, February 28th at 1:00 p.m.
Burial will be in the Delta City Cemetery.
She was buried in February 2011 at Delta City Cemetery, Delta, Millard Co., UT, Findagrave #66691049.
