HEART ATTACK IS SUFFERED IN CAR NEAR SPRING HILL

Chairman of Platte County Democratic Committee Was an Insurance Agent-Funeral Services Tuesday.
Kendrick W. George, 53, Platte City, chairman of the Platte County Democratic Committee, died unexpectedly yesterday at the home of a sister, Mrs. Paul Hopkins, Spring Hill, Kas. Mr. George suffered a heart attack while driving to Spring Hill with his mother, Mrs. Madeleine George of the home. He died shortly after arriving at the Hopkins home. Mr. George was born on a farm near Platte City and was a lifelong resident of Platte County. He was a graduate of the Smithville High School and attended the University of Missouri where is was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He operated a life insurance agency in Platte City the last 28 years and managed the state license bureau there.He had been chairman of the Platte County Democratic Committee the last six years and was a member of the Platte County library board. Mr. George was a member of the Christian church of Platte City and the Smithville Masonic lodge and was a charter member of the Platte County Memorial post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served in the Navy three years in World War II and was a member of the selective service board no. 87. He was a member also of the Platte County Historical Society and the American Legion post at Platte City. Also surviving are two nephews, James R. Hopkins and Joseph F. Hopkins 1403 Valentine road. Services will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday, at the Platte City Christian church. Burial will be in Platte City Cemetery.
