Mrs. Margaret Gilmore Smith, 83, of the Red Fern Community in Taylor County, Campbellsville, Route 3, daughter of the late Mr. James Irvin Gilmore and Mrs. Lucinda Berry Gilmore, was born in Taylor County, Ky., November 7, 1885. She died at the Metzmeier Nursing Home in Campbellsville at 9:30 p.m., Sunday, March 2nd. She had been a patient there for the past month. She professed faith in Christ early in life and was a charter member of the Campbellsville Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She united in marriage to Mr. Ollie N. Smith, in November 1900. He preceded her in death, January 1, 1945. To this union three sons and three daughters were born. Willie Smith died in infancy. Surviving are Ira Smith of Campbellsville; Mrs. Theodore Luffman, Mrs. Uriel Clark and Mrs. Shelby Murrah, all of Louisville; John Irvin Smith of Lenoir, North Carolina. Besides her children, she is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 4th in Campbellsville Cumberland Presbyterian Church by Rev. Bennie Wood. Burial was in the Shiloh Cemetery. Pallbearers were: George Anderson, Willie Rose, Harold Kirtley, Dennis Smith, Tom Ed Claycomb, and J. D. Warren.
