Marjorie Lee Grubb died on 13 February 1915 at Hunnewell, Sheby Co., MO, at age 33

Obituary -- (Findagrave.com):

Tragic death

One of the saddest and most tragic deaths which has ever occurred in Hunnewell was that of Mrs. John Horn, who died at her home Saturday from burns which she received that morning.

Mrs. Horn arose and prepared breakfast for her family and not feeling well Dr. Dobson and Mr. Horn's mother was summoned.

Mrs. Horn left the room and went upstairs and the family not mistrusting anything wrong, supposed she had gone upstairs to be quiet.

In a short time someone smelled something burning and on them rushing upstairs found her a mass of flames which were soon extinguished and she was taken down stairs where her burns were attended too and it was found that she was severely burned. In about 15 minutes she gave birth to a little boy baby, who is till alive and doing nicely.

Other physicians were summoned and all that medical aid could do was done to alleviate her suffering, which was intense. but thru it all she was never heard to murmur.
When questioned as to her reason for doing the rash act she said that she was in so much misery that she did not realize what she was doing.

The fact as we were able to learn was that she must have started the fire with some newspapers and then stood over the papers until her clothing caught fire and then she wrapped herself tightly in quilts and laid down on some quilts on the floor.

Marjorie Lee Grubb the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Grubb was born in Macon County on July 15th, 1880 [July 16, 1881 on stone], and was united in marriage to John Horn, of this city, in March 1898 and to this union were born ten children, two dying in infancy. She united with the Christian church at the age of 14 years.

She was buried in February 1915 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Hunnewell, Sheby Co., MO, Findagrave #87021495.
