She was Stratton Hammon’s favorite aunt and before she was married, frequently escorted him around the neighborhood. She married Jerome Edgar Robertson on 10 February 1912, at the
Evangelical Church, which stood at Highland and Grinsread Drive. The minister was Reverend Zimmerman.
Martha May Hammon Robertson died in Louisville 22 August 1973, 5 days short of her 90th birthday. She was buried in Resthaven Cemetery. Their first child (a) was Jerome Edgar Robertson, who was born in Louisville, Kentucky, 4 December 1912. He married Catherine Davis, daughter of Oscar Davis and Maude Cook of Taylor County, Kentucky, in Indiana, on l0 June 1949. They have daughters Barbara Diane Robertson born in Louisville, Kentucky 16 September, 1950, and Victoria Kay Robertson born in Louisville, Kentucky, l March 1952. Surviving are six children, three sons, Clarence F. of Keokuk Henry E. of Kahoka, Oval B. of Luray; and three daughters, Mrs. Bertha Heinze of Kahoka, Mrs. Myrtle Kutcher ofKahoka, and Mrs. Gladys Young of Farmington. Also 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. J. M. Monroe in charge of the service.
Music was by Niss Nina Dorsey, Mrs. Ethel Rigg, Mrs. Helen Ragan.
Pallbearers were Richard Hamner, Delbert Hamner, Howard Heinze, Junior Kutcher, Donald Kutcher and Leroy Lillard.
