INDEPENDENCE Harriet E. Todd, 67, of Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly
of Independence, died Jan. 18 in her home. Memorial services: 11
a.m. Saturday, White Funeral Home. Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery.
There will be no visitation. Survivors include two daughters,
Sandra Todd of Laguna Hills, Calif., and Susan Aldrich of
Sparta, N.J; a brother, William Hanna of Independence; and
three sisters, Bonnie O'Brien and Patricia Scott, both of
Independence, and Margaret VanEtten of Seattle. Harriet E. Hanna was born on 17 December 1924. She was the daughter of Harry Hanna and Maude Olive Munsinger. Harriet E. INDEPENDENCE William J. Hanna,72, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 1995, in Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, after a short illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, First Presbyterian Church, by the Rev. Jack High. Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at Reiff Funeral Home, Independence, where a military memorial service begins at 7 p.m., and after 9 a.m. Saturday at the church. Survivors include his wife, Norma; three sons, Larry and Bob, both of Independence, and Bill of Cedar Rapids; three daughters, Mary Ann Frye of Bassett, Neb., Sherry O'Leary of Dubuque and Linda Hanna of Independence; two stepdaughters, Sherry Betra of Bettendorf.

Lon was married to Melba Kathleen Williams for many years. He had three children, Robert P. "Bob" Hannah, Edward Joseph "Joe" and Jack Oren Hannah. Joe & Jack are two of the members of the Sons of the San Joaquin.

Lon remarried after his loving wife Melba passed away. He then married Celia Ketcham on March 27, 1964.

They adopted a daughter, Anita Chavez Hannah.

Lon was named after his maternal grandmother's brother Leonidas "Lon" Polk McElwain.
