Obituary -- (Findagrave.com):
Lois Virginia (Hawk) Moseley was born on April 8, 1926, and she was the daughter of Richard Frank Hawk (1902-1975) and Irene B ( -- ) Hawk (1909-1993).
She was married about 1945 to Raymond Herbert Moseley (1921-2008), who was a longtime Chattanooga, Tennessee attorney and judge. When she was 74 years old she returned to college and graduated with Honors from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga.
Lois was a fun-loving, caring and committed Christian who loved adventure. She traveled to 47 of the 50 states in the USA and journeyed many times to Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa. She flew on the Concorde with her husband and sailed on the Queen Elizabeth II.
She had an easy laugh and a giving heart, and her hobby was people. She was also known for her garden, her volunteering (everything from Cub Scout Den Mother to the church choir) and her legendary broccoli casserole recipe. At the age of 88 she moved to the senior community of The Heritage at Brentwood, because she wanted to make new friends. That says it all.
A resident of Nashville, she was 89 years old when she passed away on July 7, 2015 surrounded by all four of her children, their spouses and five of her nine grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband, she was survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law; a married daughter; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
A Memorial Service to honor Lois was held at her church - Bethlehem United Methodist in Franklin - and burial was in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Margaret Hawk
F, b. 28 December 1826, d. 18 June 1918
Margaret Hawk was born on 28 December 1826 at New Jersey At least one online genealogy shows this Margaret Hawk as the daughter of William and Sarah A. (Probasco) Hawk of Greenwich Twp., Warren Co., New Jersey. This is incorrect.
There were two William Hawks, born in the 1780s, with daughters named Margaret, born in the 1820s, who were listed in the 1850 census of Warrent County, NJ -- thus the confusion.
The 1940 S.A.R. application of Ralph Jones, citing multiple earlier sources, indicates that his ancestors Margaret Hawk and Jacob Welter were married in June, 1850, and that Margaret was born 28 DEC 1826. The 1850 census lists Margaret Welter, age 23, living in the household of William "Hawke", age 68, a farmer in Frelinghuysen Township, wife's name Winifred, born about 1801 in New Jersey.
Also listed on the 1850 census of Warren County was Margaret Hawk, age 21, living in the household of William Hawk, age 63, a farmer in Greenwich Township, apparently widowed. This page of the 1850 census was dated 31 JUL 1850, a month after the reported date of Margaret Hawk's marriage to Jacob Welter. This evidence shows that the correct Margaret Hawk was the married Margaret Welter living in Frelinghuysen Twp.
