Mr. Hays died Sunday in a Portland hospital at age 75.
A native of McKeesport, Pa., he had been a Portland resident for the past 41years. A cook by trade, he had been employed by the Hilton, Sheridan and Benson hotels. He was a member of the Culinary Union and once served in the Merchant Marine.
Survivors include his wife, Alice of Portland; two step-daughters, Charlene W. Cammack and Charlotte P. Henderson, both of Portland; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.[:CR.
He was buried at Riverview Abbey Mausoleum and Crematory, Portland, Multnomah Co., OR, Findagrave #198014926.
