Ora Edgar Hays Jr. lived on 8 April 1950 at Southern Pacific Railroad Tracks, Albany, Linn Co., OR, working as a cook for a Southern Pacific Railroad work train.¹ He died on 26 December 1982 at Multnomah Co., OR, at age 75

Ora E. Hays
Funeral for Ora Edgar Hays will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Riverview Abbey Funeral Home, with interment in Riverview Abbey Mausoleum.

Mr. Hays died Sunday in a Portland hospital at age 75.

A native of McKeesport, Pa., he had been a Portland resident for the past 41years. A cook by trade, he had been employed by the Hilton, Sheridan and Benson hotels. He was a member of the Culinary Union and once served in the Merchant Marine.

Survivors include his wife, Alice of Portland; two step-daughters, Charlene W. Cammack and Charlotte P. Henderson, both of Portland; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.[:CR.
