Jesse Hill, 78, who retired in 1952 as an engineer with the International Boundary commission of the United States and Canada, and Alaska and Canada, died Saturday morning at his home on Hillcrest drive.
A native of Santa Barbara, Calif., Mr. Hill entered employment of the boundary commission in 1908 and had charge of locating and erecting boundary range monuments along the Southeast Alaska-British Columbia boundary.
An important peak along the Alaskan boundary was named Mt. Hill in recognition of his work in Alaska with the commission. He moved to Hanover from Washington, D.C. in 1952. He was one of the original members of All Saints Episcopal church.
Surviving are: His wife, Ellenora McMullen Fitz Hill; a daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Greening, New Brunswick, N.J; a son, John Fitz Hill, at home, and one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held this morning at 11 o'clock at All Saints church. His pastor, Rev. Stuart S. Tuller, will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery. The famly requests that contributions be made to All Saints church or to Hanover Public library in lieu of other memorials. Arrangements are in charge of the Panebaker Funeral home, 311 Broadway.

John Fitz Hill, 52, Hillcrest Drive, died Sunday at his home.
Born in Washington, D.C., he was a son of Ellenora McMullen Fitz Hill, resident of Golden Age Nursing Home, Frederick St., and the late Jesse Hill.
He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, McCost St., and was a major in the air force in World War II and the Korean War. he was a graduate of Haverford College and did graduate work at RPI, Troy, N.Y. He taught engineering at RPI and later was in charge of gas turbine research and development for General Electric at Schenectady, N.Y. Upon arrival in Hanover, he was employed at the former Fitz Water Wheel Co. until his retirement.
Surviving in addition to his mother, is a sister, Mrs. George (Eleanor) Hill Greening, 30 Mistletoe Drive, Matawan, N.J.
He was a nephew of the late J.S. Fitz, formerly president of Peoples Bank and Fitz Water Wheel Co.
The funeral will be at the Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Saturday at 1 p.m. with his pastor, Rev. Frederic G. Stevenson, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. There will be no viewing.
Contributions may be made to the All Saints Episcopal Church or the Visiting Nurse Association, 217 Broadway.

He taught engineering at RPI and later was in charge of gas turbine research and development for General Electric at Schenectady, N.Y. Upon arrival in Hanover, he was employed at the former Fitz Water Wheel Co. until his retirement.
Surviving in addition to his mother, is a sister, Mrs. George (Eleanor) Hill Greening, 30 Mistletoe Drive, Matawan, N.J.
He was a nephew of the late J.S. Fitz, formerly president of Peoples Bank and Fitz Water Wheel Co.
The funeral will be at the Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Saturday at 1 p.m. with his pastor, Rev. Frederic G. Stevenson, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. There will be no viewing.
Contributions may be made to the All Saints Episcopal Church or the Visiting Nurse Association, 217 Broadway.

John William Hill was born in 1834 at Athens Co. (probably), OH.1,2 He was the son of Joseph Hill.1 John William Hill married Martha Jane Nutter, daughter of Benjamin Starr Nutter and Margaret Martin, on 9 August 1860. John William Hill lived on 2 August 1870 at Darby Twp., Pickaway Co., OH.2 He died in 1907.
