COLUMBIANA-Willard D. Hetric, 97, of Columbiana, Ohio, died on Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at Parkside Health Care Center.

Mr. Hetric was born on March 2, 1914, in Columbiana. He was the son of the late Ira A. and Margaret M. McGale Hetric, and he lived most of his life in Columbiana.

He is survived by his sister, Helen Miller; his daughter, Amanda; his son, Deane; his daughter-in-law, Suzanne, nieces, Jo Ann Kale, Kathy Steele, Carol Thomas and Marty Metzler; and nephews, James Ellis, Tom Miller, William Steele and Dennis Hetric.

Mr. Hetric was the proprietor of a paint and wallpaper store in Columbiana before World War II, and he served in World War II from 1942 until 1945. After the war, he was well known in Columbiana as a sign painter, house painter, and interior decorator.

His wife, the late Ruth Vollnogle Hetric, died in 1968. His second wife, the late Helen Koch Hetric, died in 2002. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Steele and a brother, James Hetric.

Mr. Hetric was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Columbiana and the Allen Lodge 267 F.&A.M.

Burial will follow in Columbiana Cemetery.

He was buried in March 2011 at Columbiana Cemetery, Columbiana, Columbiana Co., OH.

William is preceded in death by his loving wife Linda Cheryl Hettick of 21 wonderful years. He served in the United States Navy. William was very charismatic and could always make you smile when he walked into a room. He was truly known for putting others needs before his own. William is survived by his children Sherry Lin Parker, Brent Arthur Hettick and Amy Jean Hettick. Funeral services for Dale Wayne Hevern, 34, will be held at 7 o'clock this evening at Struve and Laporte's chapel. Interment tomorrow will be in Golden Gate cemetery, San Bruno.

Mr. Hevern, who resided at 1126 Montana street, was burned to death yesterday morning after a Northern Salinas Valley mosquito abatement district plane crashed and exploded near the upper Elkhorn slough.
