Jesse Hill, 78, who retired in 1952 as an engineer with the International Boundary commission of the United States and Canada, and Alaska and Canada, died Saturday morning at his home on Hillcrest drive.

A native of Santa Barbara, Calif., Mr. Hill entered employment of the boundary commission in 1908 and had charge of locating and erecting boundary range monuments along the Southeast Alaska-British Columbia boundary.

An important peak along the Alaskan boundary was named Mt. Hill in recognition of his work in Alaska with the commission. He moved to Hanover from Washington, D.C. in 1952. He was one of the original members of All Saints Episcopal church.

Surviving are: His wife, Ellenora McMullen Fitz Hill; a daughter, Mrs. Eleanor Greening, New Brunswick, N.J; a son, John Fitz Hill, at home, and one grandchild.

Funeral services will be held this morning at 11 o'clock at All Saints church. His pastor, Rev. Stuart S. Tuller, will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery. The famly requests that contributions be made to All Saints church or to Hanover Public library in lieu of other memorials. Arrangements are in charge of the Panebaker Funeral home, 311 Broadway.

Jesse Hill

Funeral services for Jesse Hill, Hanover R.D. 2, a retired engineer of the International Boundary Commission of the United States and Canada, who died Saturday, were held yesterday at All Saints Episcopal Church. The Rev. Stuart S. Tuller, vicar, officiated. Burial was in the family plot at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

He was buried in December 1963 at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Hanover, York Co., PA, Findagrave #138472405.

John F. Hill

John Fitz Hill, 52, Hillcrest Drive, died Sunday at his home.

Born in Washington, D.C., he was a son of Ellenora McMullen Fitz Hill, resident of Golden Age Nursing Home, Frederick St., and the late Jesse Hill.

He was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, McCost St., and was a major in the air force in World War II and the Korean War. he was a graduate of Haverford College and did graduate work at RPI, Troy, N.Y. He taught engineering at RPI and later was in charge of gas turbine research and development for General Electric at Schenectady, N.Y. Upon arrival in Hanover, he was employed at the former Fitz Water Wheel Co. until his retirement.

Surviving in addition to his mother, is a sister, Mrs. George (Eleanor) Hill Greening, 30 Mistletoe Drive, Matawan, N.J.

He was a nephew of the late J.S. Fitz, formerly president of Peoples Bank and Fitz Water Wheel Co.

The funeral will be at the Panebaker Funeral Home, 311 Broadway, Saturday at 1 p.m. with his pastor, Rev. Frederic G. Stevenson, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. There will be no viewing.

Contributions may be made to the All Saints Episcopal Church or the Visiting Nurse Association, 217 Broadway.

Kathryn (Katie) Creiglow went to be with the Lord on August 25, 2012. Katie was born on September 21, 1931 in Fairfield County, Ohio; she moved to Brawley with her husband and 3 sons in 1958.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Clyde Creiglow.

Lester Paul Hill Sr., 66, of 452 N. Sixth St., died at 2:10 p.m. Monday (Jan. 28, 1980) at Guernsey Memorial Hospital following a nine - month illness. He had been a Ford mechanic for many years.

He was born July 25, 1913, on Larrick's Ridge, son of James H. and Nettie Miller Hill. He was a member of Canton Baptist Temple and attended Calvary Baptist Church, Byesville, and North Salem Community Church. He was known to his CB friends as "The Ford Man".

He leaves his wife, Edith Elizabeth Brown Hill, whom he married April 30, 1931, and 20 nieces and nephews. A son, Lester Paul Hill II, died July 2, 1949. Three brothers and a sister are also deceased.

Friends may call today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Scott - Atkinson Funeral Home.

The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 1:30 p.m. form North Salem Community Church by the Rev. Llewellyn Thompson, the Rev. Kenneth Pugh and the Rev. Kenneth Fuller. Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to the service.

Last rites for Lester Paul Hill, Jr., 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hill, 515 Garfield ave., will be conducted Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Second Baptist church by the pastor, Rev. Marshall Harper and Rev. Llewellyn Thompson, Methodist minister of Adamsville. Interment will be in Northwood cemetery.

The youth, who would have been a junior in Central high school next fall, died Saturday evening in White Cross hospital, Columbus, where he had undergone surgery six weeks ago. He was dismissed to his home following the operation and was readmitted there last Tuesday.

The boy was born Feb. 6, 1932 and was a member of the Second Baptist church. Surviving in addition to his parents are his grandparents, Mrs. Nettie Hill, of the home and Wilse Brown, of Cambridge.

The body was taken to the home Monday evening from Corwin funeral home.
