Howell, son of Kneedham Howell and Ruth E. Barnett, on 22 March 1892 at Dallas Co., IA. Charlotte C. Holloway died on 3 January 1938 at Bayard, Morrill Co., NE, at age 65.

     Christiana Holloway was born circa 1861 at Fairfield Twp., Columbiana Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of Ephraim Samuel Holloway and Margaret Windle.¹

     Edmund Starling Holloway was born on 10 March 1847. He was the son of John Holloway and Laura Smith.

     Elizabeth Hillyer Holloway was born on 18 January 1846 at Henderson, Henderson Co., KY.^2,3 She was the daughter of William Starling Holloway and Mary S. Hillyer. Elizabeth Hillyer Holloway lived in 1860 at Hillsboro, Highland Co., OH, living with the John and Jane (McDowell) Smith family.³ She married Capt. Buford Allen Tracy, son of Obediah Tracy and Martha A. Thompson, on 20 October 1870, eight children born, all living as of 1900 census.^1,4 Elizabeth Hillyer Holloway was buried on 27 November 1900 at Winchester Cemetery, Winchester, Clark Co., KY. She died on 26 December 1900 at Winchester, Clark Co., KY, at age 54

Horrible Accident

Mrs. Elizabeth Tracy Receives Fatal Burns

Yesterday morning the Fire Department was called out by an alarm from the residence of Mrs. Lizzie Tracy, on South Maple Street. Upon arrival it was found that the services of the firemen were not needed, but a tragedy, far greater than the destruction of property, had occurred.

Some days ago Mrs. Tracy had severly bruised her leg by breaking through a defective spot in the kitchen floor. Yesterday morning she was sitting before the fire bathing the bruised member with turpentine. Her daughter, Miss Mattie, in the discharge of her household duties, accidentally overturned the bottle. The volatile fluid at once caught fire enveloping Mrs. Tracy in flames. Efforts to extinguish them were unsuccessful until most of her clothing had burned off. By this time she was unconscious, in which condition she remained until death came to her relief a few hours later.

Mr. Charles L. Vanmeter, Miss Lizzie Tracy and the colored cook were each badly burned in trying to divest the unfortunate lady of her clothing, and Miss Mattie Tracy was also burned but not so badly.

Mrs. Tracy was originally Miss Holloway, of Henderson, and one of a large family of brothers and sisters of whom eleven are still living. Col. J. H. Holloway is the only one living in this vicinity, but the others were at once notified by telegraph.

Her awful fate recalls the tragic death of her husband, Capt. B. A. Tracy, several years ago, his neck being broken in the elevator of the Gay warehouse in this city.

The funeral will take place from the Presbyterian church this afternoon at two o’clock, burial in the Winchester cemetery.

     Fillmore Holloway was born on 25 October 1857. He was the son of William Starling Holloway and Mary S. Hillyer.

     James H. Holloway was born on 6 January 1926 at Centerville, Linn Co., KS; son of John H. and Mana L. (Smith) Holloway. He married Viola May Moats, daughter of Olin Swingley Moats and Ora Viola Ellenberger, in 1946. James H. Holloway died on 16 February 2021 at age 95. He was buried in February 2021 at Antioch Pioneer Cemetery, Merriam, Johnson Co., KS, Findagrave #224418555.

     James Hillyer Holloway was born on 1 February 1835 at Kentucky.² He was the son of William Starling Holloway and Mary S. Hillyer. James Hillyer Holloway married Mary E. Williams, daughter of Gen. John S. Williams, on 19 April 1864.¹ James Hillyer Holloway died on 4 September 1911 at Clark Co., KY, at age 76.

     James Watts Holloway was born on 1 April 1856. He was the son of John Holloway and Laura Smith. James Watts Holloway died on 14 February 1870 at age 13.

     Jane S. Holloway was born on 15 July 1809 at Kentucky. She was the daughter of Maj. John Holloway and Anne Starling. Jane S. Holloway married George Gayle in December 1827 at Henderson Co., KY, Ceremony by Thomas Evans, Minister, Methodist Episcopal Church. Jane S. Holloway died on 19 July 1829 at Henderson Co. (probably), KY, at age 20.

     Joe Dean Holloway was born on 11 October 1921. He was the son of Lee Holloway and Jennie Kirkwood. Joe Dean Holloway married Martha Ferne Starr, daughter of Ralph Starr and Mary Pauline Kean, on 16 May 1941. Joe Dean Holloway died in 1981.

     John Holloway was born on 2 September 1802. He was the son of Maj. John Holloway and Anne Starling. John Holloway married Sarah Terry on 1 April 1830. John Holloway married Laura Smith, daughter of Col. Peter Smith, on 4 September 1838.¹ John Holloway died on 17 January 1871 at age 68.

     Maj. John Holloway was born in 1761. He began military service Revolutionary War Veteran. He married Anne Starling, daughter of Col. William Starling and Susannah Lyne, on 17 December 1793 at Mecklenburg Co., VA.²
