Brewer.2 Ira Cleveland Huff married Sarah E. Starr, daughter of Christopher Columbus Starr and Cenith E. West, on 4 April 1903 at Grant Co., IN. Ira Cleveland Huff lived on 20 April 1910 at Flat Rock, Crawford Co., IL, oil well driller.1 He and Sarah E. Starr were divorced before April 1930; It appears that Ira's relationship with Kathryn Flaherty began well before his marriage to Sarah Starr was ended. Ira C. Huff, 78, Oil Producer, Dies

Ira C. Huff, Sr., who worked in the oil business in Kentucky for 63 years, died at 8:05 p.m. yesterday at Jewish Hospital. Huff, 78, was a native of Van Buren, Ind.

Huff, 308 W. Whitney, was an independent oil producer. In recent years he had commuted between here and Daviess County where he had interests. In the 1920's, he had an oil business in Lexington.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Winabeth H. Gibson; a son, Ira C. Huff, Jr., Cleveland, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Scott, Marion, Ind., and two brothers, Earl Huff, Tulsa, Okla., and Charles Huff, Van Buren.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at Ratterman's, 2815 S. Fourth. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

He was buried in May 1962 at Calvary Cemetery, Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY, Fiondagrave #171257828.

Wanda Abounader, passed away August 20, 2006 at the age of 83 in Phoenix. She was born in Barstow, California (sic), but lived here in Phoenix for forty-eight years. Wanda retired as a secretary from Southwest Forest Industries. She is survived by her daughter, Starr Abounader and was preceded by her husband, Charles. A gathering will be held Monday, August 28th from 6 PM to 8 PM with a vigil service at 7 PM at the Rude Family Northwest Mortuary, 4033 N. 19th Ave., Phoenix. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, August 29th at 10 AM at St. Gregory Catholic Church 3424 N. 18th Ave., Phoenix. A Committal service will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, where Wanda will be interred with her beloved Charles.

Survived by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy; three daughters, Dorothy (Dale) Brown, Maureen (Kyle) Landis and Charlotte (Mike) Grejtak; two grand- children, Wayne Brown and Anna Grejtak; brothers and sisters, Nola Elliott, Ellen Robertson and Robert (Thelma) Huffer; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Orion and Lawrence. Maurice served in the U.S. Navy following graduation from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1954. He retired from Gilbert Commonwealth in 1987 after many years of service. When he was not involved in family events, Maurie enjoyed gardening and traveling. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Queen of the Miraculous Medal Catholic Church on Monday at 10:30 AM with Father Timothy MacDonald officiating. Private interment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta. The family will receive friends at the Desnoyer Funeral Home on Sunday from 5 to 8 PM with a Vigil Service at 7 PM. The family will also receive friends at the Church on Monday from 10:00 to 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers contributions to Allegiance Hospice or to Queens Church would be appreciated.

He was buried in September 2013 at Ft. Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, Kalamazoo Co., MI.
