Hover-Funk Wedding.

Mr. William A. Hover, of Eureka, and Miss Leta Funk, of Russell, Kansas, were married on Sunday, the 6th of January, at the home on (sic) the bride's father, Mr. John Funk, in Russell. This comes as a pleasant surpise to Eureka people as the news of the marriage did not reach Eureka until the first of this week. Mr. Hover is a highly esteemed young man whose life has been spent in Greenwood county. The bride has also spent much of her time in Eureka. They will live on the Funk farm up Fall River, which Mr. Hover has rented for the coming year.

William A. Hover was born Octobe 31, 1877 at Eureka, Kansas and died at his home in this city Saturday, November 9, 1918, from influenza and double pneunmonia.

At the age of fifteen he was confirmed into the Lutheran Church.

He was united in marriage to Miss Lelah Funk in 1901 and to this union five children were born.

He leaves the grief stricken wife and children, Phylis, Marian, Wilma, John and Robert, also one sister, Mrs. Ena Hover Errickson, and two brothers, Harry D. Hover and Oscar H. Hover, all of this county to mourn his untimely death.

William Hover was actively engaged in the cattle business and farming in this community, a man of intergrity and honor, who enjoyed to the fullest the confidence of his associates and the business men of Eureka. He was a man of large heart, who would rather excuss than condemn a fault of another. In his home life he was a loving husband, a wise father, The family has lost its dearest friend and Eureka a fine type of citizen.

The funeral service, conducted by Rev. Paul Mennenoeh, was held at the residence Sunday afternoon a large number of friends had gathered to pay a last tribute of respect and love. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery.

     Russell Lyman Hovey was born on 5 February 1947 at Corning, Steuben Co., NY. He was the son of Lyman Percy Hovey and Sarah Kathryn Wilson. Russell Lyman Hovey died on 19 September 1948 at Corning, Steuben Co., NY, at age 1. He was buried in September 1948 at Allegany Cemetery, Allegany, Cattaraugus Co., NY, Findagrave #103613386.

     Alva Loren Howard was born on 26 June 1855 at Richland Twp., Fountain Co., IN.¹ He was the son of William Howard and Anna Saville Swigart.¹ Alva Loren Howard married Susan Elizabeth Rice, daughter of Wallace Rice and Rachael Stephens, on 14 January 1882 at Fountain Co., IN. Alva Loren Howard died on 5 May 1927 at Mellott, Fountain Co., IN, at age 71.

     Burnetta Elizabeth Howard was born on 1 June 1866 at District of Columbia. She married Jacob Bennett Derrick on 7 April 1892 at Washington, District of Columbia.      Charles William Howard was born on 16 August 1906 at Seattle, King Co., WA. He was the son of William Edward Howard and Bertha Lee Brumback. Charles William Howard married Margaret Yvonne Jacobi circa 1930. Charles William Howard died in December 1966 at Eugene, Lane Co., OR, at age 60.

     Cicero Johnson Howard was born on 10 July 1879 at Flint District, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory. He was the son of George Alvin Howard and Martha Louvenia Johnson. Cicero Johnson Howard married Susie Ross, daughter of Dan Ross, in 1915. Cicero Johnson Howard married Olive Estella Edmondson, daughter of Jefferson Davis Edmondson and Lula Eugenia Ward, in 1921. Cicero Johnson Howard died on 7 March 1945 at Pryor, Mayes Co., OK, at age 65.

     Clara Louise Howard was also known as "Callie". She was born in June 1854 at Conneaut, Ashtabula Co., OH.^1,2 She was the daughter of Perry Howard and Clarissa Heartshorn.³ Clara Louise Howard married James Alpheus Larimore, son of John W. Larimore and Elizabeth Fahs, on 6 September 1871 at Richfield, Adams Co., IL, Five children born, four living as of 1900 census.² Clara Louise Howard died on 4 August 1919 at Hull, Pike Co., IL, at age 65.

     Don A. Howard was born circa 1895 at Ohio.¹ He married Carrie Warman circa 1915.¹

     Dorothy E. Howard was born circa 1919 at Ohio.² She was the daughter of Don A. Howard and Carrie Warman.^2,1 Dorothy E. Howard married Robert Timler, son of Andrew Timler and Ethel Florence Swigart.²

McCollum, on 14 October 1866 at Fountain Co., IN.² Francis Marion Howard died on 27 May 1915 at Indiana at age 73. He was buried in May 1915 at Old Baptist Cemetery, Newtown, Fountain Co., IN.

     Frank Howard was born on 26 November 1840 at Bridgeport, Fairfield Co., CT. He married Sarah Elizabeth Starr, daughter of Joseph McMinn Starr and Delilah Adair, in September 1870.

     Frank Stapler Howard was born on 30 January 1873. He was the son of Frank Howard and Sarah Elizabeth Starr. Frank Stapler Howard died on 17 July 1935 at age 62.

Frank A Howard, 47, well known druggist of this city for years, died Sunday night at Kerrville, Texas, where he had been for the last two years in an effort to revive his health .

He came to Hopkinsville in 1920 to work for E. H. Higgins, druggist, and in 1925. he and Mrs. W. H. Southall purchased the I. A. Johnson Drug Store on East Ninth Strcet, and had operated the Howard and Southall store there since.

Mr. Howard was born Jun. 17, 1894, in Caldwell County and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Howard, Sr.

During the World War No. 1, Mr. Howard served in the 11th Battalion infantry Replacement Training Camp at Petersburg, Va., as a lieutenant.

In 1923, Mr. Howard married Fannie Long Campbell, who survives him. She was at his bedside at the time of his death. In addition to his wife, he leaves his mother. Mrs. F. A. Howard, Sr., and one sister, Mrs. Leonard Groom of Princeton, one brother, Clyde Howard of Akron, 0., and a number of distant relatives. He leaves a host of friends to mourn his loss.

Mr. Howard was a member of the First Baptist Church of this city and received his education at Bethel College, Russellville. He was a member of the Odd Follows and was very active, serving its lodge fund treasurer for 16 years, He was a member of the Kiwanis also.

The body will arrive by train at Clarksville Tuesday and will be brought to the Wood-Fuqua-Davis Funeral Home here where the services will be conducted Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock by Dr. P. C. Walker, pastor of the First Baptist Church. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
