Howell married Eliza Jane Clapper, daughter of George Michael Clapper Jr. and Susanna Baker, on 23 February 1854 at Muskingum Co., OH. Philip P. Howell lived in July 1860 at Salt Creek Twp., Muskingum Co., OH, laborer.² He lived on 11 August 1870 at Cologne Twp., Mason Co., WV, farming.⁴ He died in 1873. He was buried in 1873 at Mt. Hebron aka Jackson Chapel Cemetery, Mount Alto, Jackson Co., WV, Findagrave #80590705.

     Ruth L. Howell was born on 17 October 1892 at Nebraska.¹ She was the daughter of Charles Howell and Laurene Leavitt.¹ Ruth L. Howell married Hayes Hunter Culbertson, son of Julius Augustus Culbertson and Loretta Jane Hunter. Ruth L. Howell died on 13 February 1981 at Absarokee, Stillwater Co., MT, at age 88.

     Serena Howell was born on 21 September 1838 at Kanawha Co., VA (now WV). She was the daughter of Jeremiah Howell and Julia Dotson. Serena Howell married Grafton W. Windle, son of Nicholas Hetrick Windle and Catherine Hillyard, on 31 October 1859 at Scioto Co., OH. Serena Howell died on 21 July 1881 at Rarden Twp., Scioto Co., OH, at age 42. She was buried in July 1881 at Newman Cemetery, Franklin Twp., Adams Co., OH.

     Susan Jane Howell was born circa 1857 at Muskingum Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of Philip P. Howell and Eliza Jane Clapper.¹

     Thomas Howell was born circa 1813 at Virginia.¹ He married Lucretia Munn on 24 July 1836 at Scioto Co., OH. Occupation: Silversmith in 1880 at Circleville, Pickaway Co., OH.¹

     Thomas James Howell was born on 12 September 1869 at Mason Co., WV.¹ He was the son of Philip P. Howell and Eliza Jane Clapper.¹ Thomas James Howell married Bertha Arnetta Parsons, daughter of James Tanner Parsons and Mary Bell Williamson, in 1889 at Jackson Co., WV. Thomas James Howell lived on 23 June 1900 at Cologne District, Mason Co., WV, farming.² He died on 28 May 1961 at Mason, Mason Co., WV, at age 91. Glen L. Howerter, 76, of 351 West Oak Street, Smithfield, died at 3:20 p.m. December 31, 2002, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
He was born April 3, 1926, in Smithfield, to Elra and Alice (Hammond) Howerter. He married Marla J. Sherwood on September 25, 1948, in Santa Ana, California. She died November 16, 1996.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Bruce Howerter, and one sister.
Surviving are one son, Larry E. (and Marcy) Howerter of Monroe City, Missouri; one daughter, Debbi (and Randy) Inman of Marquette Heights; two brothers, Robert Howerter of Smithfield, and Harold Howerter of Washington; two sisters Willodane Esmond of McHenry and Maxine Arnette of Fairfax, Va; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Dorla Helle of Cuba.
He had worked at Caterpillar Inc. for 33 years, retiring in 1978, and also had worked as a school bus driver for Cuba School District.
He was a World War II Navy veteran and was a member of Harold C. Hoopes American Legion Post 17 in Ipava.
Services were held January 4 at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba, the Rev. Layton Malone officiating. Burial was in Baughman Cemetery in rural Smithfield, with military services conducted by his legion post.
Memorials may be made to the Grant Keime Memorial Trust Fund.

     Mary Grace Howery was born on 23 November 1909 at Oklahoma. She married Charley B. Myers circa 1927. Mary Grace Howery died on 25 January 1991 at age 81. She was buried in January 1991 at Independence Cemetery, Norman, Cleveland Co., OK, Findagrave #33335167.

     Guy Howes was born on 5 February 1904 at North Dakota.¹ He married Irene Dolores Lloyd, daughter of Walter E. Lloyd and Nora May Henderson.¹ Guy Howes died in December 1976 at Contra Costa Co., CA, at age 72 Dates per SSDI, last residence Martinez.

     Allen Temple Howland was born circa 1834 at Virginia.¹ He was the son of William Howland and Maria Lane. The report circulated upon the streets this morning concerning the death of Ex-Sheriff A. T. Howland proved, happily, to be untrue. He is said to be improving.


FUNERAL NOTICE

The funeral of Allen T. Howland took place from his late residence in Union township yesterday morning at 11 o'clock. The services were conducted by Rev. E. L. Collins, pastor of the Licking Baptist church, of Union township. The funeral was attended by a large number of friends and relatives of the deceased. Interment was made in the Cedar Hill cemetery.² He was buried in January 1894 at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newark, Licking Co., OH, Findagrave #38021927.
