Charles B. Jones
Charles B. Jones, 80, of Reno, NV, journeyed to his heavenly home on April 2, 2004 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
"Charley" was born in Downs, Kansas to Ralph and Zula Jones on January 24, 1924. His family moved to Beloit, KS during his teen years where he graduated from Beloit High School in May, 1942. He enlisted in the US Air Force (sic) following the attack on Pearl Harbor and proudly served his country as a radio operator and a top turret gunner on a B-24 in the Pacific.
Near the war's end in 1945, he married his high school sweetheart, Beth Davis. They moved to Denver, CO for a short time, but chose to raise their family in southern CA, where they moved in 1949.
Charley managed a metal plating company for many years. He and Beth shared two hobbies with a passion: fishing and motorcycle riding. They enjoyed several vacations riding cross country, each on their own bike.
He retired at age 77 to Reno where he and Beth sought out their favorite fishing holes. They faithfully attended Grace Church in Reno.
He is survived by Beth, his wife of 59 years, son Rod of Reno; daughters Terri Elwood, CA, Gayle Jones of ID; sister Dorothy Verhage of MI; 7 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Debbie Contreras.
"You will be greatly missed for now, we anticipate with much joy being reunited with you when, one by one, we begin our new eternal life."
Private family services to be held. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Kassaundra Marie, two sons, Vincent John IV and Isaac Flynt, all at the family home; her parents, of Newhall, Calif; two sisters, Gayle Muzzo, Newhall, and Terry Elwood, Sepulveda, Calif; and one brother, Rodney Jones, Newhall.
Memorial services will be 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Whitefish Christian Church with Dr. David Kauffman officiating. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of the Weatherford Funeral Home.
