GEORGE DISERT JONES, 87, died Friday at his home, 605 Virginia Avenue. Born and reared in Chambersburg, he was the son of George and Mary Disert Jones. He came to Hagerstown 57 years ago, where he was employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad, retiring 20 years ago as roundhouse foreman.
Mr. Jones was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Chambersburg; Friendship Lodge No. 84, AF&AM; Ithiel RA Chapter No. 27; Palestine Council No. 16, R&SM; and St. Bernard Commandery No. Nine, Knights Templar.
Surviving are daughters, Miss Margaret Jones, at home; Mrs. Dorothy Potterfield, Baltimore; Mrs. M. Catherine Smith, Delray Beach, Fl; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.

Carlinville, Dec. 15 - Mrs. Gladys Jones Colver, daughter-in-law of Mrs. Theodore C. Loehr of Carlinville, died late Friday afternoon at her home in Chicago following a several weeks illness.
She was born Nov. 27, 1896, a daughter of the late Rev. William F. and Kate Irwin Jones.

The body has been brought to Wiese funeral home in Carlinville where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, Rev. W.W. Swift, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal church, will officiate.
Burial will be in the Mayfield Memorial cemetery.
