Richard Allen Keys, 63 of LaSalle died peacefully Sunday afternoon at home surrounded by his family and dog. He had been in poor health since August.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Rupp Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday. Rev. George Fountain will officiate with burial at Woodland Cemetery.
Born April 14, 1948 in Detroit he was the son of Richard E. and Bernice E. (LaForge) Keys. He married Joyce M. Lambert at Trinity Lutheran Church on December 27, 1977.
Richard was employed at Ford Motor Company, Monroe for thirty-five years as a machine repairman, retiring in 2001.
He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War from May 21, 1968 to May 20, 1974. He was a 1966 graduate of Jefferson High School and also graduated from Ford Motor Company skilled trades program. Richard was a baptized and confirmed Lutheran.
Survivors include his wife Joyce, son Milton Jay (Kimberly) Poupard of Charlotte; daughter Erika L. (Jeff) Back of Monroe; grandchildren Olivia Poupard, Isabelle Poupard and Emily Poupard and sister Joanne Keys of Howell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son Jon Poupard.
Memorials may be made to Mercy Memorial Hospice of Monroe or the charity of the donor's choice.
He was buried in October 2011 at Woodland Cemetery, Monroe, Monroe Co., MI, Findagrave #78065058.
