Intruder Nabbed At Camera Store (Courier News Bureau)
CEDAR FALLS -- An intruder was arrested by city police late Saturday night inside Sampson's Camera Store, 307 Main St.
Police received a call shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday from someone who said they had heard glass breaking behind the Parkade camera store. The store had been broken into only the night before and at that time a $320 tape deck was taken and a window valued at $125 was broken to gain entry.
A patrol car asnwered the Saturday night call with two officers who found the back door broken.
Inside the darkened store the officers heard footsteps and hid, apprending a man as he came down the stairs carrying a stereo unit valued at $342.
Arrested for alleged breaking and entering was Paul Edward Kitzmiller, 20, of 3120 Big Woods Road.
Kitzmiller had a cut on his hand and was taken to Sartori Memorial Hospital for treatment. At the hospital, police said, Kitzmiller attempted to escape but was returned to custody after a brief chase.
The stereo unit was recoveded but damage to the store during entry to the building was estimated at $200.

Note:

from Tracy Devault:

There are several genealogies that show a Joseph Kitzmiller (b. 1828 in Maryland) as a son of Samuel and Catherine. I think these genealogies are in error. Census records show that this Joseph Kitzmiller was actually born Jan 1839 in Maryland. He was the son of Adam Kitzmiller and Lydia (Unknown) House-Kitzmiller.

Information on sons Hiram and Abdiel Kitzmiller was give to Newland DeVault by Mrs. Nicholas Kupsco (Edith Marie Roemer).
