Born November 20, 1940 in St. Louis, MO to the late Jake and Bertha (Griffey) Kitchell.
On June 24, 1964 he was united in marriage to Wilma Jean Brown who preceded him in death on January 16, 2012. To this union two children were born; Jimmie Jr. and wife Stephanie Kitchell of Ironton, MO and Sherry and husband Eddie Harr of Bismarck, MO. Also surviving are three grandchildren; Kevin "Budd" Brewer of Farmington, MO, and Whitley and Noley Kitchell of Ironton, MO, a brother, Jackie Stricklan of Sullivan, MO, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Jimmie was preceded in death by two brothers, Marvin and Norman Stricklan and four sisters; Elizabeth Stricklan, Betty Mergle, Francis Purler, and Juanita Thompson.
Jimmie worked as a miner in the lead mines. He served as Assistant Fire Chief of the Pilot Knob Fire Department for 15 years and served with the department for 28 years.

He was buried in December 2012 at Polk Cemetery, Arcadia, Iron Co., MO, Findagrave #102170432.
