Last Tuesday evening the 4th at 6:30 o'clock, Miss Clara Knox was united in marriage to Mr. Elmer Duebbert at the splendid Knox home south of town. With Miss Geneva Ellis at the Piano, the young couple was escorted into the lighted parlor by Mr. Frank Knox and Miss Martha Powell, where Rev. Arbuthnot performed the ceremony using the ring service. Rev Arbuthnot introduced the ceremony with appropriate remarks that seemed to drive the usual tenseness of such occasions. Elmer and bride drove to town and left on the evening train for a short stay. They will reside in Mexico Missouri, where Elmer has a position with the Pollock Milling Company. Miss Clara is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Knox and the good wishes of our community go out to her and Elmer in their new relationship.

David Franklin Knox

David Franklin Knox was born on 28 October 1826. He was the son of William Knox and Sarah Clark. David Franklin Knox married Catherine DaVault, daughter of Peter Davault and Mary Virginia Hoss, in 1858 at New Florence, Montgomery Co., MO. Occupation: At one time David was Sheriff of Montgomery Co., and he appointed his brother-in-law, Alf Davault, as his deputy. Knox, eldest son of William & Sarah (Clark) Knox, owns some 1300 acres and has one of the choice stock farms of the township, a handsome place of some 400 acres near New Florence where he has lived since about the time of his marriage in 1858. He held office of sheriff for three terms 1856 - 1858 - 1870, the 1st anti-radical sheriff of the county after the war, member of the Methodist Episcopal Church South, died in 1875. (last date is not correct.)
He was buried in August 1888 at New Florence Cemetery, New Florence, Montgomery Co., MO.
