Snowden and Martha Matilda Chapman, on 19 March 1895 at Hancock Co., IL. Volie Paul Knock lived in 1910 at School Dist. 5, Custer Co., SD.

     Wallace Russell Knock was born on 4 October 1839 at Fulton Co., IL. He was the son of Daniel Cogal Knock and Phoebe Easley. Wallace Russell Knock married Permelia Jane Pigg, daughter of Anderson Pigg and Mary Sanders, on 25 February 1869 at Fulton Co., IL. Wallace Russell Knock died on 31 July 1910 at age 70.

     Willametta Knock was born on 15 January 1888 at Bernadotte Twp., Fulton Co., IL. She was the daughter of Wallace Russell Knock and Permelia Jane Pigg. Willametta Knock married Peter J. Lippens, son of Lewis Lippens and Beartelia Colton, on 24 December 1907 at Fulton Co., IL. Willametta Knock lived in 1910 at Evanston, Cook Co., IL.¹ She lived in 1920 at Lewistown, Fulton Co., IL, Peter Lippens was not shown in the household in the 1920 census.

     Occupation: Diplomingenieur in Riga, später in Berlin. Hans Knoll was born on 1 March 1876 at Neustadt / Weinstrasse, Germany. He married Friederika Karolina Charlotte Munzinger, daughter of Ernst August Munzinger and Friederika Karolina Welcker, in 1907 at Riga, Latvia. Hans Knoll died on 12 January 1926 at Berlin, Germany, at age 49.

     Mary F. Knoll was born on 30 January 1918 at Van Wert, Van Wert Co., OH. She married Dr. Kendrick Thaddeus Edmonds, son of Joseph Lafayette Edmonds and Edith Jane Peacock, on 28 February 1941. Mrs. Edmonds was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Psi Iota Xi Sorority, Lawrence County Medical Auxiliary, Friends of Music of Indiana University, and the American Guild of Organists.

She was president of the Girl Scout Board, organist for Baptist, Methodist and Episcopal churches for eight years, and organist for the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home for many years.

She was a graduate of Springfield City Hospital School of Nursing in Springfield, OH.

Also surviving are two sons, James L., Columbia, SC and David A., Bedford; two daughters, Mrs. Douglas (Carol) Henderson, Logansport, and Mrs. Frederick (Barbara) Florjancie, Naperville, IL; nine grandchildren; one sister, Mildred Knoll, Stockton, CA and two brothers, Charles E. Knoll, Jr., Sarasota, FL and William F. Knoll, Van Wert, OH.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John's Episcopal Church with the Rev. Robert Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home. The family asks that any memorial contributions be sent to the American Lung Association, 424 Fifth Street, Columbus.

Knowles Divorce Decree Is Signed

A final decree has been signed in district court granting Shirley Jean Knowles a divorce from Gordon Nummer Knowles on the grounds of cruelty.

She was awarded all of the household effects, except for a television set, which, along with a 1940 automobile, was awarded to Knowles. He was ordered to settle an account owed by the couple at a clinic.

Another provision of the decree was that she return a diamond ring given her at the time of their engagement.

Gordon Nummer Knowles died on 25 September 1999 at Kankakee, Kankakee Co., IL, at age 72

Surviving are his wife, the former Lela Marguerite Knowles, whom he married Oct. 16, 1952, in Aledo; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindi and Gary Denny of Momence; five sons and four daughters-in-law, Allen and Pam Knowles of Peoria, Ariz., David and Jamie Knowles of Bourbonnais, Robert Knowles of Atlanta, Ga., Larry and Betsy Knowles of Muscatine, Iowa, and Daniel and Jeannene Knowles of
Momence; his father of Bourbonnais; one sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Dave Routien of Bourbonnais; 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Deceased are his mother and one granddaughter, Krista Denny.

Mr. Knowles had retired from Momence Packing Company in 1995 and he had operated Knowles Plants in Momence.

He was a member of AARP. He enjoyed HO Model Trains and wood carving.

     Leslie Watkins Knowles was born on 14 September 1901 at Lawrence, Essex Co., MA. He married Frieda Nummer. Leslie Watkins Knowles died on 29 May 2002 at age 100.

Last Tuesday evening the 4th at 6:30 o'clock, Miss Clara Knox was united in marriage to Mr. Elmer Duebbert at the splendid Knox home south of town. With Miss Geneva Ellis at the Piano, the young couple was escorted into the lighted parlor by Mr. Frank Knox and Miss Martha Powell, where Rev. Arbuthnot performed the ceremony using the ring service. Rev Arbuthnot introduced the ceremony with appropriate remarks that seemed to drive the usual tenseness of such occasions. Elmer and bride drove to town and left on the evening train for a short stay. They will reside in Mexico Missouri, where Elmer has a position with the Pollock Milling Company. Miss Clara is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Knox and the good wishes of our community go out to her and Elmer in their new relationship.

     David Franklin Knox was born on 28 October 1826. He was the son of William Knox and Sarah Clark. David Franklin Knox married Catherine DaVault, daughter of Peter Davault and Mary Virginia Hoss, in 1858 at New Florence, Montgomery Co., MO. Occupation: At one time David was Sheriff of Montgomery Co., and he appointed his brother-in-law, Alf Davault, as his deputy. David F. Knox, eldest son of William & Sarah (Clark) Knox, owns some 1300 acres and has one of the choice stock farms of the township, a handsome place of some 400 acres near New Florence where he has lived since about the time of his marriage in 1858. He held office of sheriff for three terms 1856 - 1858 - 1870, the 1st anti-radical sheriff of the county after the war, member of the Methodist Episcopal Church South, died in 1875. (last date is not correct.)
