Born Dec. 11, 1925, in Peoria County to Alan and Edith Homan Ladd, she married Robert Powell on Dec. 27, 1984, in Canton. He survives in Bryant. Also surviving are four daughters, Sande (and David) Wilson of East Peoria, Catherine (and Michael) Behrens and Jill (and Steve) Martin, both of Peoria, and Julie (and Joel) Wank of Chillicothe; three brothers, Don (and Iona) Ladd of Puryear, Tenn., Bill (and Donna) Ladd of Farmington and Sam (and Sharon) Ladd of Canton; two sisters, Edythe "Babe" Sommers and June (and Sam) Gray, both of Canton; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. NEW WASHINGTON -- Bernice L. "Bea" Wiggam, 81, died Saturday at her home.
She was a native of New Albany, the former Bernice L. LaDuke and the secretary at Local 934 United Brotherhood of Carpenter Union and Joiners of America.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Wiggam Sr; a son, Martin Epperson of New Albany; a step-son, Donald Wiggam Jr. of Hayden, Calif; a daughter, Sharon Lehmann of Jeffersonville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Samuel F. Epperson.
Services are 10 a.m. tomorrow at Grayson New Washington Funeral Home, with burial in Crown Hill Cemetery. Visitation is 6 to 9 p.m. today and after 9 a.m. tomorrow.

Fred LaDuke, 63, died at 3:15 p.m. Friday in the Floyd County Memorial Hospital.
He Lived at 710 W. Fifth Street. LaDuke was a brick mason, and a member of Park Christian Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth LaDuke; a daughter, Mrs. Bernice Epperson; a brother, Harry LaDuke, and a sister, Mrs. Nell Dennison, all of New Albany, and three grandchildren.
The body is at the Mullineax Funeral Home. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with burial in the Graceland Memorial Park.

Arthur Paul LaFayette married Texas Mae Charles, daughter of Austin Jerome Charles and Mary Ellen Baker, on 13 May 1913. Arthur Paul LaFayette died on 19 June 1951 at Fresno Co., CA, at age 75.

     Mildred Lee LaFevers was born on 31 July 1929. She was the daughter of Roy Lee LaFevers and Julia Wesley Powell. Mildred Lee LaFevers married Paul Vernon Scott, son of Mack Payton Scott and Jennie J. Rose. Mildred Lee LaFevers died on 19 May 2011 at age 81.

     Maxine Lafferty was born on 15 May 1923. She married Raymond Kingsley Vance, son of Frank L. Vance and Annie Florence Kidd, on 1 January 1942. Maxine Lafferty and Raymond Kingsley Vance were divorced circa 1945.

     Mollie Lavon Lafferty was born on 22 January 1919. She married Joseph Rudolf Susich on 14 June 1941 at Ogden, Boone Co., IA. Mollie Lavon Lafferty died on 17 March 1973 at age 54. She was buried in March 1973 at Violet Hill Cemetery, Perry, Dallas Co., IA, Findagrave #16362198.

Obituary:

The funeral Mass for John L. LaFleur, 49, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2300 West Main Street, Batavia, where he will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment will follow at West Batavia Cemetery in Batavia.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday, at Moss Family Funeral Home, 209 South Batavia Ave. in Batavia. Born December 22, 1956, the son of Kenneth and Lorraine (nee Wendell) LaFleur, he passed away Sunday, March 26, 2006, at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva, following complications from a brain tumor. John was united in marriage to Tammi Snider on February 7, 1981, in Batavia.

John will be remembered as a fun, happy, involved community member who was a great husband and father. He always put his family first and was active with his children. He coached Batavia Youth Baseball and was involved with Holy Cross Catholic Church. He was employed at Fermi Lab as an electrician.

He is survived by his wife, Tammi of Batavia; three children, Kristina, Christopher and Bethanne, all of Batavia; his mother, Lorraine of Montgomery; three sisters, Wendy (Jerry) Marcec of Geneva, Joan (Jeff) Holland of Ariz. and Sandy (Terry) Boisdorf of Oswego; his father and mother-in-law, Philip and Peggy Snider of Hampshire; two sisters-in-law, Lynn (Bill) Dreymiller of Batavia and Cathleen (Andrew) Raymer of Texas; two brothers-in-law, Philip (Kristine) Snider of Geneva and Kevin (Tina) Snider of Hampshire; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Rick LaFleur.
