Edwin Artz.
Edwin Artz, aged 69 years, of Augusta, Ill., died very suddenly last Sunday morning at 2:30 o'clock at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. D. D. Waldeck, in this city. Mr. Artz accompanied by Mrs. Waldeck had visited the Omaha exposition and enroute home had made a several days sojourn with Maryville, Mo., friends. Born June 14, 1913, in Kingston, she was the daughter of Oran L. and Della M. Hutchcroft Asby. On June 12, 1935, she married Everett David Witte in Nashua. He died March 7, 1995.
Mrs. Witte was a nurse and homemaker.
She was a 1931 graduate of Wapello High School and a 1935 graduate of Mercy School of Nursing. She was a charter member of the TTT Society, member at large of the National TTT Society, Golden Rule No. 1 Circle of the Kings Daughters and Sons, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking, playing bridge and traveling.
Survivors include one son, E. David Witte of Hendersonville, Tennessee; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald K. Asby of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one daughter, two brothers and one sister.
There will be no visitation, her body has been cremated.
Rev. Trevor Davis will officiate, with inurnment in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for Grace United Methodist Church.
She was buried in March 2006, Cremated, Findagrave #43314840.
