Mrs. Nora Belle Shears, 67, Canfield-Salem Road, died Tuesday night in Salem City hospital. She had been ill two years following a cerebral hemorrhage.
Born in Green township March 1, 1894, she was a daughter of David and Lucy Baird Lesh (sic). She had lived all her life in the home where she was born.

The bride's pastor, the Rev. Nevin E. Smith performed the double ring ceremony.
Preceding the ceremony, Mrs. Jay Cooper Yinger, soloist , New Kensington, and Miss Lois Kadie, church organist, presented a recital as the guests were assembling in the church.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white organdy, fashioned with a Chantilly lace bodice and featuring three-quarter length sleeves. Her veil of heirloom lace was full length. She carried a colonial bouquet of white roses, centered with yellow sweetheart roses.
Miss Caroline Moul Fitz, Pottsville, sister of the bride, acted as maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Miss Ruth Lesley, sister of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Robert Koch. Flower girl was Miss Virginia Fitz Bixby, niece of the bride. The attendants wore white embroidered organdy gowns, the maid of honor’s over a yellow skirt and the others over lime skirts. Their headbands were of yellow roses and they carried colonial bouquets of yellow roses with lime and yellow streamers.
John J. Germroth, Mamont, served as best man for his brother-in-law and the ushers were Bernard Kuta, Thomas Ames and David Vandenburg.
A reception at 217 Broadway followed the ceremony. After their return from a honeymoon on Cape Cod, Mass., the couple will reside in New Kensington.
The bride is a graduate of the Eichelberger Senior High School and Hood college, Frederick. She is employed by the Aluminum Research Laboratories, New Kensington. The bridegroom is a graduate of the Kiski Prep school, Saltsburg, and is now attending the Pennsylvania State College School of Agriculture.

James Robert Lesley, 80, of Lower Burrell PA, formerly of Kailua, HI, died Saturday, July 17, 2004, in his home. He was born October 30, 1923, in Mamont, Washington Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Morse Vandenburgh Lesley; his sisters, Lillian Parrotta and Jane Youra, his children, Samuel Lesley and Susan Mieritz and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Ann Fitz Lesley.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He enjoyed his family and friends, traveling, reading and gardening.
He retired from the Soil Conservation Service in 1980 after 30 years of service with the Federal government. His service with the S.C.S. took him from Schuylkill and Somerset Pennsylvania to Hawaii and to Madison Wisconsin. He served as a District and Area Conservationist in both Hawaii and Wisconsin. His accomplishments in the S.C.S. include the Tri-Isle Resource Conservation and Development Project for Maui, Hawaii, the Little Schuylkill Watershed project and the Tuscorora State Park on Locust Creek in Pennsylvania.

Jasper Leslie was born in 1819 at Harrison Co., IN.1 He was the son of Levi Leslie and Sarah Windell.1 Jasper Leslie married Margaret Hubbard, daughter of John Hubbard and Elizabeth Wolfe, on 20 June 1839 at Harrison Co., IN. Jasper Leslie lived on 24 July 1850 at New Albany, Floyd Co., IN, teamster.1 He lived on 10 June 1870 at New Albany, Floyd Co., IN, in a rooming house with his son George, steamboat mate.2 He married Arminta Worrell, daughter of Lucinda (?), on 25 September 1871 at Floyd Co., IN, ceremony by Ben F. Welker. Arminta was first married to John F. Bean on 12 SEP 1860, and had three children before his death, Charles, Minnie, and John F. Bean, Jr.
Jasper Leslie lived on 12 June 1880 at Water Street, New Albany, Floyd Co., IN, policeman.
