She married James Sylvester Melvin, son of Leon Russell Melvin and Inez Vetelle Wright, Etta was first married to William Wiley Davis (1920 - 1975.) Etta Allene Lewis died on 4 January 2003 at age 79. She was buried in January 2003 at Lucerne Valley Memorial Park, Lucerne Valley, San Bernardino Co., CA, Findagrave #95532546.

     Eva Anita Lewis was born on 20 July 1904 at Washington, District of Columbia. She was the daughter of Winslow Thomas Lewis and Florence Virginia Fray. Eva Anita Lewis married Theron Elbert Allen, son of John Mahonri C. Allen and Mina Livesey, on 4 September 1930 at District of Columbia. Eva Anita Lewis lived between 1935 and 1940 at 5708 Broad Branch Road, Washington, District of Columbia.¹ She died on 4 February 2005 at Brookfield, Waukesha Co., WI, at age 100 Dates per SSDI.      Fielding Lewis was the son of John Lewis and Mildred Warner. Fielding Lewis married Kate Washington.

     Gertrude Lewis was born in January 1881 at Kansas.¹ She was the daughter of Wilson Kohen Lewis and Sarah Lucinda Foster. Gertrude Lewis married Rev. Joseph Lewis Snapp, son of Robert Grant Snapp and Lydia Ann Rider, circa 1895, One child born, none living as of the 1900 census.¹ Gertrude Lewis died on 20 March 1902 at Taney Co., MO, at age 21.

     Gladys Eva Lewis was born on 27 March 1907 at Kansas; daughter of Walter Elroy and Anna Nora (Basey) Lewis. She married John Carl Welch, son of George R. Welch and Cora Adell Munsinger, after January 1920. Gladys Eva Lewis died on 4 September 2000 at Conroe, Montgomery Co., TX, at age 93.

     Glenn Wilford Lewis was born on 13 April 1914 at Indiana.¹ He was the son of Wilford Roscoe Lewis and Ethel Sonner.¹ Glenn Wilford Lewis died on 25 January 1990 at age 75.

     H. Newton Lewis was born in 1880.¹ He was the son of R. W. Lewis and Susan E. Noffsinger.¹ H. Newton Lewis died on 26 September 1897.¹

     Hallie Virginia Lewis was born on 25 May 1895 at Fairmont, Clark Co., MO. She was the daughter of Harry James Lewis and Callie Hewitt. Hallie Virginia Lewis married Aner Edgar Anderson, son of Peter Anton Blomberg Anderson and Marta Kasja Nasman, in 1919. Hallie Virginia Lewis died on 23 March 1987 at Modesto, Stanislaus Co., CA, at age 91

Hallie Virginia Lewis Anderson was born on May 25, 1895, in Fairmont, Missouri. Her parents were Harry James Lewis and Callie L. "Daisy" Lewis. Harry was a carpenter by trade and moved his wife and daughter to Colorado around the turn of the century to help build the Colorado State prison. By the time of the 1910 census, Harry had moved his family to Turlock, California and took up farming. Hallie had a baby sister, Lorena, join the family in 1910. They were 15 years apart in age but remained close as sisters for over 80 years.

In 1919, Hallie married Aner Edgar Anderson, also a resident of Turlock. They courted before and during WW I, while Aner served in the U. S. Navy. They married in 1919. Aner and Hallie moved to Southern California shortly after they were married. Aner purchased a fruit farm near Riverside, Ca. In the late 1920's Hallie and Aner had two children. Son Norman was born in 1927 and daughter Phyllis was born in 1929 By 1940, the family had moved back to Stanislaus County, California and, after doing more farming, Aner and Hallie built a motor court. Aner, Hallie, their two children, and Hallie's parents all worked at the Anderson Motor Court to make it very successful. Hallie remained in Modesto, California for the rest of her life. She had seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Husband Aner passed away in 1967. They were married 48 years. Hallie lived a long and healthy life, passing away in 1987. She lived just short of 93 years. She is buried beside her beloved Aner and her mother and father. Sister Lorena and her husband Charles Tuthill are also buried beside her.

     Harry James Lewis was born on 25 May 1869 at Clark Co., MO. He was the son of George Washington Lewis and Elizabeth Starr. Harry James Lewis married Callie Hewitt, daughter of Henry J. Hewitt, on 26 October 1893 at Clark Co., MO. Harry James Lewis lived on 25 May 1940 at Ceres, Stanislaus Co., CA, with daughter Hallie's family, helping operate an auto court (motel).¹ He died on 29 December 1941 at Turlock, Stanislaus Co., CA, at age 72.      Hattie Lewis was born on 25 May 1878.¹ She was the daughter of Alfred Lewis and Rebecca (?) Hattie Lewis married George M. Miller, son of Michael Emmert Miller and Elizabeth Welty, on 7 March 1900 at Ogle Co., IL, Illinois Statewide Marriage Index 1763 - 1900:

     Hattie Emeline Lewis married Jesse McClure Shirk, son of John Stouffer Shirk and Mary Bowles Miller, on 4 October 1894.

     Henry Lewis was born on 23 May 1872 at Corder, LaFayette Co., MO. He was the son of John Wiatt Lewis and Emily Elizabeth Brumback. Henry Lewis died in 1935.

     Henry Chappell Lewis married Mae Louise McElhaney, daughter of Gideon Heckman McElhaney and Anna Pearl Myers. Henry Chappell Lewis was born on 3 February 1912. He died on 24 January 1999 at age 86.

     Homer Lewis was born on 17 September 1882 at Lawrence Co., IN.¹ He married Ethel May Chastain. Homer Lewis died on 29 May 1972 at Pekin, Washington Co., IN, at age 89.

     Homer C. Lewis was born in February 1885 at Madison Co. (probably), IN. He was the son of Stanford Lewis and Mariah E. Reger.

     James A. Lewis was born on 8 May 1924 at Washburn, Woodford Co., IL. He was the son of Ernest A. Lewis and Irene Z. Bruder. James A. Lewis married Frances M. Hayes, daughter of Charles Francis Hayes and Doretta Regina Hogan, on 23 December 1943 at Princeville, Peoria Co., IL. James A. Born May 8, 1924, in Washburn to Ernest and Irene Bruder Lewis, he married Frances Hayes on Dec. 23, 1943, in Princeville. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, James and Kenneth; five daughters, Mrs. Ronald (June) Loser, Carla Choate, Mrs. Harry (Patricia) Frisby of Wyoming, Mrs. Paul (Dorita) Grove, and Mrs. Bruce (Wanda) Wagner; and two sisters, Mrs. Vernon (Betty) Schertz and Geneva Lewis.

Two brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

He was a horse trader all his life. He also worked for Teamsters Local 627.

Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
