     James Linn was born on 17 October 1761 at Lurgan Twp., Franklin Co., PA. He was the son of William Linn and Jane McCormick. James Linn married Griselda Patterson, daughter of Andrew Patterson and Mary Walker, on 3 February 1786. James Linn died on 26 May 1835 at Lurgan Twp., Franklin Co., PA, at age 73 Date per headstone. He was buried in May 1835 at Middle Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Middle Spring, Cumberland Co., PA.

     James Linn was born on 30 July 1820 at Lurgan Twp., Cumberland Co., PA. He was the son of William Linn and Mary Galbreath. James Linn married Eliza Jane Coffey, daughter of James Coffey and Isabelle (?), on 28 November 1876. James Linn died on 25 July 1885 at Cumberland Co., PA, at age 64.

     James Fleming Linn was born on 4 September 1803. He was the son of John Blair Linn and Ann Fleming. James Fleming Linn married Margaret I. Wilson, daughter of Hugh Wilson and Catherine Irvine, on 20 July 1826 at Sugar Creek, Venango Co., PA.¹ James Fleming Linn died on 8 October 1869 at Lewisburg, Union Co., PA, at age 66.

     James Henry Linn was born on 15 February 1798. He was the son of Rev. Dr. William Linn and Catharine Moore. Occupation: Attorney, Albany, NY. James Henry Linn died in 1837.

     James McCarrell Linn was born in 1878 at Franklin Co., PA.¹ He was the son of James Linn and Eliza Jane Coffey.¹ James McCarrell Linn died on 16 April 1895. He was buried in April 1895 at Middle Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Middle Spring, Cumberland Co., PA.

     Note: After the death of her husband, she moved with her two sons to her father's house. She stayed there after the death of her parents, then made her home in Shippensburg until 1850 when she went to Mt. Joy and spent a few years there. Later she moved to Springfield, Ohio.

     Jemima Linn was born on 30 April 1806. She was the daughter of John Blair Linn and Ann Fleming. Jemima Linn died on 17 April 1873 at Sugar Creek, Venango Co., PA, at age 66.

     Jennette Linn was born on 26 June 1845 at Schenectady Co. (probably), NY.¹ She was the daughter of Archibald Laidlie Linn and Mary Ten Eyck McClellan.¹ Jennette Linn died on 21 May 1861 at age 15.

     John Linn was born on 8 January 1797. He was the son of John Blair Linn and Ann Fleming. John Linn married Mary F. Chamberlin, daughter of Col. William Chamberlin, on 28 April 1825.

Note: John Blair Linn, was pastor of the First Presbyterian church at Philadelphia. This J.B. Linn gained quite a reputation as a preacher and poet. His principal work was entitled "Valerian", but he was brought to prominence chiefly by his controversy with the celebrated Dr. Joseph Priestly, a Uniterian preacher, and as scientist, discoverer of oxygen. He was born on 2 April 1754 at Lurgan Twp., Franklin Co., PA. He was the son of William Linn and Susanna Trimble. John Blair Linn lived in 1775 at Buffalo Valley, Union Co., PA, Moved to Buffalo Valley in 1775. He married Ann Fleming, daughter of John Fleming and Ann (?), on 7 November 1780. John Blair Linn died on 21 March 1809 at White Deer Twp., Union Co., PA, at age 54.

     John Blair Linn was born on 14 March 1777 at Shippensburg, Cumberland Co., PA. He was the son of Rev. Dr. William Linn and Rebecca Blair. John Blair Linn married Esther Bailey, daughter of Col. John Bailey, on 18 May 1799 at New York City, NY, Ceremony performed by Rev. Dr. Linn. John Blair Linn died on 30 August 1805 at Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co., PA, at age 28.

     Rev. John Blair Linn was born on 5 December 1830 at Schenectady Co. (probably), NY.¹ He was the son of Archibald Laidlie Linn and Mary Ten Eyck McClellan.¹ Rev. John Blair Linn married M. M. (?), no surviving children.² Occupation: Minister in 1880.² Rev. John Blair Linn lived in June 1880 at Yazoo, Yazoo Co., MS.² He died on 17 August 1901 at Rotterdam, Schenectady Co., NY, at age 70.

     John G. Linn was born on 16 May 1833 date based on headstone legend "aged 13 years, 10 months, 11 days." He was the son of William Linn and Mary Galbreath. John G. Linn died on 27 March 1847 at age 13. He was buried in March 1847 at Middle Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Middle Spring, Cumberland Co., PA.

     Margaret Linn was born on 27 December 1799. She was the daughter of John Blair Linn and Ann Fleming. Margaret Linn married Joseph McCalmont on 13 May 1823. Margaret Linn died on 7 February 1873 at Sugar Creek, Venango Co., PA, at age 73.

     Margaret Linn was born on 19 November 1825. She was the daughter of David Linn and Mary Coulter. Margaret Linn married Rev. Ephraim Kieffer on 10 August 1848.

     Maria Linn was born on 9 October 1835 at Schenectady Co. (probably), NY.¹ She was the daughter of Archibald Laidlie Linn and Mary Ten Eyck McClellan.¹ Maria Linn married James Hastings, son of Robert Hastings and Martha (?), at Schenectady Co., NY.
Note: The James and Maria Hastings family, found in 1870 and 1880 in Albany County, New York could well be be the family of Maria Linn, but cannot find any further evidence. DLB 2015.

     Martha Linn was born circa 1774. She was the daughter of William Linn and Jane McCormick.

     Mary Linn was born. She was the daughter of Rev. Dr. William Linn and Rebecca Blair. Mary Linn died on 29 January 1870 at Ithaca, Tomkins Co., NY.

     Mary Linn was born on 7 November 1790. She was the daughter of James Linn and Griselda Patterson. Mary Linn died on 9 March 1854 at Burgettstown, PA, at age 63.

     Mary Linn was born circa 1851 at Ohio.¹ She married Jonathan Larimore, son of Warner J. Larimore and Rachel Hollet, circa 1869.¹ Mary Linn died in 1910.

     Mary B. Linn was born in January 1886 at Franklin Co., PA.¹ She was the daughter of James Linn and Eliza Jane Coffey.¹

     Mary Galbreath Linn was born on 2 April 1822 at Franklin Co., PA. She was the daughter of William Linn and Mary Galbreath. Mary Galbreath Linn married David Hayes Culbertson, son of Stephen R. Culbertson and Mary Hays, on 20 December 1843 at Cumberland Co., PA.¹ Mary Galbreath Linn lived in 1860 at Princeton, Scott Co., IA.¹ She lived on 17 June 1870 at Princeton, Scott Co., IA.² She died on 14 March 1902 at Scott Co., IA, at age 79

March 19, 1903 - Carroll Sentinel - Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Culbertson and R.Y. Culbertson returned yesterday morning from Princeton where they had been attending the funeral of the mother of the brothers who died last Saturday of pneumonia. The funeral was held at the old homestead Monday and all children were present.

There are six sons of whom W.L. of Carroll is the oldest and James O. of Glidden the youngest. It is a singular fact that of the eight childen of this family all are still living and in good health.

The deceased was a native of Franklin county, Pennsylvania, where she was born in April 1822. In 1862 the family moved to Iowa and settled near Princeton, Scott county, where the parents resided till their lives drew to a close. On the occasion of the family re-union this paper gave a more extended account of this interesting and sturdy family.

March 20, 1902 - Carroll Sentinel - Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Culbertson and R.Y. Culbertson have returned from their sad journey to Scott county where they laid to rest the remains of the aged and beloved Mother Culbertson.

She was buried in March 1902 at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Princeton, Scott Co., IA, Findagrave #68358542.
