Obituary -- (Findagrave.com):

Dale was born on December 29,1929 to Jesse and Mary long in Hagerstown Maryland. Attending Hagerstown high school , he and his great friend Bud Gibney built the first motor scooter which would be featured in the Hagerstown Herald every 10 yrs. From childhood though school he dated the same young girl Patricia Thomas who he would end up marrying and staying married for 48 yrs until her death in 1996. Dale and Pat moved from Hagerstown Md. to Annapolis md after the birth of their 1st son Tommy was born and their 2nd son Stephen was born before moving to Salisbury MD in 1962.Together they opened up and managed a news company BAY STATE NEWS for the Greenwald brothers of Hagerstown. Dale and Pat stayed with this company until it merged with MARDELVA NEWS which both would end up retireing from. Dale was a Korean war vet in his younger years and then joined the Coast Guard Auxilary because of the love of his boats. One thing I can say about our father was that he was a very well respected man in our community and i never heard anyone say a bad word about him. Dale was with every word a true American and you would never want to talk about politics with him because he would never stop speaking his piece. Dale and Pat would end up having 2 grandkids from son Tommy and daughter in law Vicki named Lisa and Wade. After the death of Pat, Dale ended up remarrying and later moved to Oklahoma where he would end up passing from cancer. He did many things in his life that he did not like but everything was to make someone else happy. He did not require fancy things or really ever want for anything but he was a great provider and devoted husband and caregiver. Dale was buried in a cemetery far from his home and his family and only a few people were invited to attend. Despite the opposition towards some, no matter what he was our father and that cannot be disputed.

He was buried in September 2011 at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Co., OK, Findagrave #77111565.
