Daughter of The Maryland Free State Will Become Mrs. Joseph J. Rutledge.

"Princess Pat," daughter of the Irish Free State and the Maryland Free State weds here tomorrow.

Her friends are as numerous as may be expected when a girl is 18 years old, a pretty blonde and one of eight children, six sisters and two brothers. And each one of these friends is on the qui vive for the event.

Patsy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. McCurry, who live in the Maryland Country Club section. Standing beside her at the alter will be Joseph J. Rutledge, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Rutledge of Winfield avenue, Forest Park.

Descendant of Calhoun

Through her paternal grandmother, a Virginia Calhoun, the bride-elect is a descendant of John C. Calhoun, the American statesman, while through her mother she bears kinship to Michael Collins, martyred Irish statesman and soldier, who was associated with Arthur Griffith in creation of the Irish Free State.

The wedding will take place with a nuptial mass at 9 A.M. at St. Charles Catholic Church, Pikesville, and the Rev. Ambrose Beavans, the pastor, will conduct the services.

Miss Lillian Josephine McCurry, sister of the bride-elect will be maid-of-honor, and Miss May Grant flower girl. William P. Arledge, of Dallas, Texas, will serve as best man. The ushers will be Wade Franklin Rutledge, brother of the groom-to-be, and J. George Bobb.

The best man is the fiancé of a sister of Miss McCurry. A double wedding had been proposed, but it was said Patsy's mother protested she was losing her daughters via matrimony fast enough one at a time.

A wedding breakfast will be served at the home of the bride's parents after the ceremony. The couple then will leave on a trip to New York and Niagara Falls.

The bride-elect attended school at the Convent of the Visitation and at St. Thomas' School. She is a graduate of the latter.

The couple will be "at home" at Berkeley and Millwood Avenues, Mount Washington, after May 13. The home tops the list of wedding presents.

Margaret Patricia Rutledge, 95, of Bluffton, SC, died Saturday October 13, 2001 at the Life Care Center of Hilton Head. Mrs. Rutledge was born in Baltimore, Maryland. She was a real estate secretary. She was also a secular member of the Discalced Carmelites for over 50 years.

She is survived by a daughter, Patricia R. Buppert of Bluffton, SC; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Martin of Bluffton, SC; William Barnes Buppert of Santa Barbara, CA, Joseph Andrew Buppert of Portland, OR and John Duke Buppert of Plainfield, and twelve great grandchildren, Kimberly Clark, Gary Clark, Chelsea, Alexa and Caroline Kubinski of Arkansas, Joseph, Matthew and Kirsten Buppert of Santa Barbara, CA, Alexander and Catherine Buppert of Plainfield, IL, Andrew and Mikailah Buppert of Portland, OR; and a great-great granddaughter Jasmine Jenkins Clark.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Penny Williams and Maripat Kubinski.

A memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday October 16, at St. Francis by the Sea Catholic Church, Hilton Head Island, SC. Robert Duane McDaid began military service Korean War service. He married Beatrice Marie McClure, daughter of Thomas Pearl McClure and Ruth Helen Conley, on 4 May 1952 at Lansing, Ingham Co., MI. Robert Duane McDaid died on 11 October 1984 at Rochester, Monroe Co., NY, at age 54.

     Scott Michael McDaid was born on 12 December 1955 at Lansing, Ingham Co., MI. He was the son of Robert Duane McDaid and Beatrice Marie McClure. Scott Michael McDaid died on 12 January 2012 at Queens, Queens Co., NY, at age 56.

     Albert B. McDaniel was born on 18 August 1879. He married Lillian D. Wolfe, daughter of Erasmus Wolfe and Elizabeth Miller, in 1906 at Preston Co., WV. Albert B. McDaniel lived on 15 April 1910 at Grant Civil District, Monongalia Co., WV, farm laborer.¹ He lived in January 1920 at 613 Bridy Road, Morgantown, Monongalia Co., WV, Constable for the county.² He died on 29 August 1963 at age 84. He was buried in September 1963 at Rockland Cemetery, Belpre, Washington Co., OH, Findagrave #153699719.

     Alphonso Burch McDaniel was born on 4 February 1878 at Dunreath, Marion Co., IA.¹ He was the son of Edgar McDaniel and Elmira Jane Farris.¹ As of 1900, Alphonso Burch McDaniel was also known as Alphonso B. McDonald; reason for change from "McDaniel" to "McDonald", is not known, but it appears to have parallelled the same change in his father's surname. Alphonso was listed in the 1900 census as McDonald, but in 1910 was again listed as McDaniel. In 1920 and thereafter he was McDonald. DLB 2012.² He lived on 11 June 1900 at Cedar Twp., Calhoun Co., IA, living with the Frank Kropf family, with Jessie P. McLain also in the household (Frank was her sister Maud's husband).³ He married Jessie Pearl McLain, daughter of Abram McLain and Sarah Regina Doughty, on 23 June 1900 at Greene Co., IA, married as "C. G. McDonald" and "Pearl McLain."
Note: A Marion County, Iowa, marriage record shows an Alonzo Banister McDaniel marriage to Florence B. B. Baker in February, 1896. Cannot find any evidence of such an Alonzo or Florence McDaniel in 1900 or 1910 censuses. Alphonso "McDonald" is shown as single in the 1900 census -- not sure what it means, if anything. Alphonso Burch McDaniel lived on 22 April 1910 at Union Twp., Dallas Co., IA.² He lived on 2 February 1920 at Estherville, Emmet Co., IA.⁴ He lived on 9 April 1930 at 235 North Boggs Avenue, Grand Island, Hall Co., NE.⁵ He died on 17 September 1949 at Salmon, Lemhi Co., ID, at age 71.

     Ann Grace McDaniel was born on 23 May 1886 at Sherbrooke, Guysborough Co., Nova Scotia, Canada, naturalization record. She married George McDougall Sinclair on 15 November 1905 at Sherbrooke, Guysborough Co., Nova Scotia, Canada, naturalization record. Ann Grace McDaniel died on 7 November 1974 at Los Angeles Co., CA, at age 88.

     Ann Maria McDaniel was born circa 1829 at Ohio.¹ She married James Starr, son of Samuel Starr and Mary Wendell, on 7 April 1853 at Noble Co., OH, Ann was about 24 when she married James Starr. Given the normal course of life in that time and place, she could have been a widow -- no such unaccounted for female McDaniel is listed in the 1850 census in that area of Ohio. DLB 2020. Ann Maria McDaniel died before 2 June 1900 at Ross or Pike Co., OH, James was widowed as of the 1900 census, and living with his daughter Eliza Ober's family.

     Anna Hunter McDaniel was born on 8 February 1897. She was the daughter of Horace B. McDaniel and Dorothy T. Powell.

     Edgar McDaniel was born on 12 March 1855 at Coal Creek, Montgomery Co., IN.^1,2 He was the son of William McDaniel and Rosella Prather.¹ Edgar McDaniel married Elmira Jane Farris, daughter of Uriah Farris and Sarah Phoebe Roush, on 27 May 1875 at Marion Co., IA. Edgar McDaniel died on 27 May 1930 at Grand Island, Hall Co., NE, at age 75.

     Edith Elmira McDaniel was born on 19 March 1880 at Canada Precinct, Polk Co., NE.^1,2 She was the daughter of Edgar McDaniel and Elmira Jane Farris.¹ Edith Elmira McDaniel married Truman Talbot on 28 December 1895 at Marion Co., IA.² Edith Elmira McDaniel lived on 27 April 1910 at Ward 5, Colorado Springs, El Paso Co., CO. She married Jacob McEuen circa 1915.³ Edith Elmira McDaniel lived on 20 February 1920 at Platte Precinct 5, Jefferson Co., CO.³ She died on 15 July 1965 at Littleton, Arapahoe Co., CO, at age 85.

     Elmira Jane McDaniel was born on 4 July 1903 at Ord, Valley Co., NE.¹ She was the daughter of Alphonso Burch McDaniel and Jessie Pearl McLain.¹ Elmira Jane McDaniel married Arthur L. Liddle, son of George Liddle and Ellen J. Bell, on 29 November 1923 at Estherville, Emmet Co., IA. Elmira Jane McDaniel died on 13 January 1993 at Cedar Rapids, Linn Co., IA, at age 89.

Harry William McDaniel lived in 1942 at Rt. 1, Parkersburg, Wood Co., WV, WW II draft registration. He lived at Gainesville, Alachua Co., FL.      Horace B. McDaniel was born on 22 March 1870 at New Florence, Montgomery Co., MO. He was the son of Thomas McDaniel and Matilda Hunter. Horace B. McDaniel married Dorothy T. Powell, daughter of Thomas Jefferson Powell and Mary Margaret DaVault, on 11 May 1895 at Montgomery Co., MO. Horace B. McDaniel died on 20 November 1903 at Newport, Jackson Co., AR, at age 33.      Horace Frank McDaniel was born on 17 February 1925 at St. Louis, MO. He was the son of Frank Horace McDaniel and Mary Elizabeth Hively. Horace Frank McDaniel married Joyce Teal, daughter of Ellis Teal and Rosa Barefield, on 24 July 1945 at Eufaula, Barbour Co., AL. Horace Frank McDaniel died on 3 October 2010 at Salt Lake Co.      Lena McDaniel was born on 7 August 1910 at Uffington, Monongalia Co., WV.¹ She was the daughter of Albert B. McDaniel and Lillian D. Wolfe.¹ Lena McDaniel married Wallace Raymond Turner in 1958.
