Ruth I. (McKay) Halley, 93, Kokomo, passed away at 4:06 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at Fairmont Rehabilitation Center. Ruth was born Oct. 13, 1916, in Vevay, to the late Elmer E. and Edith M. (Smith) McKay. Her marriage to William J. Halley, who preceded her in death, was on June 5, 1954, in Kokomo.
She worked at Reliance for four years, The Globe, was manager of Heaton’s Restaurant, Montgomery Ward and sold Avon Cosmetics for 32 years. She was a member of the Eagles No. 255, the Senior Citizen Club and a life member of Calvary Baptist Church. Ruth also loved to crochet, read, and work word search and crossword puzzles. Her children and her home meant the world to her.
Survivors are two daughters, Linda Henry and husband James, Kokomo, and Ruthann Bates, Kokomo; two sons, Jack Loveland and wife Bev, Kokomo, and John Halley and wife Marilyn, Kokomo; a sister, Mary Barnes, Washington State; six grandchildren, Nancy Dunbar, Cindy Russell, Steven Dance, Artie Loveland, Michael Henry and Barbra Pardue; a step-grandson, Randy Morris; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchil
