Married William Roulette, March 14,1847. She is the daughter of Andrew Miller.

The Roulette farm, just west of the Antietam Creek, rested in a hollow one mile northeast of the small village of Sharpsburg. On September 17, 1862, the Battle of Antietam begain, standing near the heart of the battlefield stood Roulette's farm. The former home of William Roulette is now being restored by the National Park Service.

They had children Carrie May Roulette died in infancy from Typhoid fever; Susan Rebecca Roulette married Charles A. Santee; and Benjamin Franklin Roulette.¹

     Maria Miller was born in 1837 at Edinburg, Shenandoah Co., VA.¹ She married Moses Wilkin, son of John Henry Wilkin and Hannah Swartz, on 15 February 1852 at Edinburg, Shenandoah Co., VA.¹ Maria Miller married Eli Hottel, son of Daniel Hottel and Mary Magdalene Jordan, on 14 February 1865 at Harrison Co., IN. 1840 census of Shenandoah County shows two Jacob Millers with daughters under 5. One of these was likely the Jacob Miller, carpenter, found in Rockingham County in 1850 with daughter Maria S. Miller, age 13.

1850 census of Shenandoah County shows a Thomas Miller, minister of Lutheran Church, born PA, with daughter Mary V. Miller age 14. But she would have had to be born in 1835 or 1836, while the B. K. Swartz book is clear on all of the dates for this family (except for an obvious error on son William D. Miller) -- no reason to suspect he got her birth year wrong. DLB 2012.
