     Murel Alice Miller was born on 9 April 1915 at Springhill, Gallatin Co., MT. She was the daughter of John C. Miller and Alice Lucrecia Powers.¹ Murel Alice Miller married Brian Ellsworth Tichenor, son of Charles Franklin Wilson Tichenor and Esther Virginia Eagle, circa 1935, two sons, Dennis and Bruce, and two daughters. MUREL ALICE TICHENOR

Murel Alice Tichenor concluded a journey of 97 fun-filled years on May 10, 2012. She was born on April 9, 1915 in Spring Hill, Montana, to John C. Miller and Alice Lucrecia Powers Miller. Her father delivered her into a large, loving family where she was the youngest of seven children.

Murel's passions included international travel, gardening, sewing, reading and nurturing lifelong relationships. She had a quick wit and was a wonderful listener who always said the right thing at the right time. Her words of wisdom are forever etched in the hearts of all who knew her.

Because "Murel" was an uncommon and frequently mispronounced name, she would always say "Murel, as in 'pearl'" when introduced. This description befits her: a precious gem, beautiful from the inside out with a luminous exterior. Pearls are thought to give wisdom through experience and to keep children safe. Murel did all that and so much more.

Murel will always be remembered as someone truly devoted to her family, friends and especially her faith. She was a humble servant of God and dedicated member of First Presbyterian Church in Vancouver, Washington.

Murel is survived by her dearly loved children, Dennis (Judy) Tichenor, Joan (Mick) Klein and Lory (Gordon) Swanson; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Brian Ellsworth Tichenor; and adored son, Bruce Alan Tichenor.

Memorial services to celebrate Murel's life were held on Friday, May 18, 2012 at Glenwood Place in Vancouver, Washington and on Saturdat, May 19, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church in Vancouver, Washington. She was laid to rest at Skyline Memorial Gardens in Portland, Oregon.

Myley Miller married Lulu N. Netzley, daughter of John Netzley and Lydia Strickler.¹ Myley Miller died on 26 June 1915 at Hasty, Bent Co., CO, at age 44 Killed by a cyclone.¹

     Nancy Dabney Miller was born on 16 August 1775 at Hanover Co., VA. She married Col. Patrick Henry Fontaine, son of Col. John Smith Fontaine and Martha Henry, on 23 January 1797 at Leatherwood, Henry Co., VA. Nancy Dabney Miller died on 5 June 1862 at Ridgeway, Pontotoc Co., MS, at age 86.

     Nancy Dollie Miller married Charles Martin Butterbaugh.

     Nancy H. Miller married Hiram Wilcox.

     Neva Louisa Miller was born on 16 October 1890 at Polo, Ogle Co., IL.¹ She was the daughter of Charles H. Miller and Fannie E. Newell. Neva Louisa Miller married Herbert Baker, son of David C. Baker and Margaret Buckborough, on 1 October 1919.¹ Neva Louisa Miller died in November 1991 at Polo, Ogle Co., IL, at age 101.²
