"Dear Nellie,
A few lines today. It is raining and a cold wind blowing, I here you are having rain too. They had quite a tornado in St. Louis this morning, sounds like bad weather all over the country. The rain is needed very badly in Calif. I hope we dont have any floods. How is every body down there? Im not so good but George is doing fine teaching every day. I was going to answer your questions you asked me sometime ago about where Grandma Molt was born but have lost your letter so will do the best I can without it. Mother (Lucretia Butcher Molt) was born the 6th of July, 1850 on the old Jeremiah Butcher farm, now the McGlasson farm. ( Jeremiah Butcher was her father ) Her father pioneered the place his name was Jeremiah Butcher. He had two daughters my mother and Aunt Leen Clair. He came from Kentucky with his father and family to Illinois, I dont know where they settled in Ill, But when Grandpa Butcher got married they settled on and pioneered the old Butcher place now the McGlassons farm. It was all woods when he settled on it. He also helped pioneer the Buckeye Church and preached there for a long time. He was a Christian Minister. And when Grandpa and Grandma Molt ( Myrtie and Minnies mother and father ) were married they pioneered and settled on my old home place which was all woods. Their first house was a log house. Then about 1872 they built the house I was born in. Aunt Leen Clair was married and lived in the Butcher home place till Ralph McGlasson bought it from her. Grandpa Molt was born in 1835. Died in 1922. Grandma Molt was born in 1850. Died in 1936. She was 86 years old when she died. I hope everybody is well down there, write when you can.
Love, Aunt Myrtie
P.S. Say hello to Frona and family."
Myrtle Molt died on 20 March 1969 at Solano Co., CA, per California Death Index online, shows mother's maiden name "Buttcher".
