David Wendel Moss, age 77, died Friday, July 20, 2007 in San Antonio after a brief illness. He is survived by his wife of over 55 years, Marion R. Moss, his daughter, Anne E. Moss and her husband, Eric A. Barth of Kerrville, his son, Robert W. Moss and his wife, Jodi Moss of Round Rock, his son, Alan E. Moss of San Antonio, and his daughter, Kay Price of Temple; four grandchildren, Carl Barth, Raven Moss, Laurel Price and William Price. He is also survived by his sisters, Margaretta Thuma of Winchester, Massachusetts and Betty Evanson and her husband Jock, of Madison, Wisconsin, sister-in-law Margaret Moss of Corpus Christi and six nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Clifton L. and Virginia S. Moss of Dallas, his brother, Clifton L. Moss III, brother-in-law, Richard R. Thuma, Jr., and son-in-law Christopher Q. Price. David W. Moss grew up in Dallas and attended Highland Park schools until his father entered Army service in World War II. Traveling with his parents, David attended high school in seven different cities until graduation from the American High School in Munich, Germany. Later he received a BA in government from the University of Texas at Austin and was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity. After their marriage, David and Marion moved to Dallas and reared their four children. David worked as a real estate salesman with the newly founded Henry S. Miller Company and later opened Dave Moss Business Properties. Additionally, he served as a member of the Dallas County Welfare Board and was Chairman of the Democratic Clubs of Dallas County. In this capacity he served with the welcoming committee that greeted President and Mrs. John F. Kennedy at Love Field on that fateful day of November 22, 1963. In 1973 the Moss family moved to Austin, a city they had always loved, where David opened The Outpost barbecue restaurant. He was subsequently employed as a real estate appraiser. In 1995 David and Marion moved to San Antonio to care for her aging parents, Lois and Edward Robbins. San Antonio won their hearts, and here they stayed. A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 28, 2007 at 3:00 pm at the First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Antonio, 7150 IH-10 West, San Antonio, TX 78213. Mrs. Marvin Berry, 30, Nevada died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday at Story County Hospital, Nevada.
She was born Aug. 16, 1934 in Kansas. She had spent most of her life in Nevada. She married Marvin Berry April 2, 1954 in Nevada.
Mrs. Berry was a member of the Memorial Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her husband; a son Rickey, at home; two daughters, Theresa and Valorie at home; her mother, Mrs. Lillian Stromberg, Nevada; two brothers, Larry Jensen, Lancaster, Calif., Carl Jensen, Nevada; a sister, Mrs. Francis Agena, Denver, Colo.
