REV. JOHN A. MOSELEY

KINGSPORT -- Rev. John A. Moseley, 82, 928 Robertson St., died at 12:10 a.m. yesterday in Holston Valley Community Hospital after an extended illness.

He was born in Buladean, N.C., but spent most of his life in Kingsport. He was a retired Methodist minister, having served churches in and around Gate City, Va. He also worked at Tennessee Eastman Co., retiring in 1952.

Surviviors include his widow, Mrs. Pollie Hale Moseley; two daughters, Mrs. Claiborne Kelly and Mrs. J. W. Pauline Arnold, both of Kingsport; five sons, Paul A. H., Kingsport, Ralph, Orlando, Fla., CWO Eldrege E., Clarksville, Alfred L. Lexington, Mass., and Raymond H. Moseley, Chattanooga; one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Stolder, Miami, Fla; one half-sister, Mrs. Flody Savannah Butler, Akron, Ohio; 21 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

      He was buried in June 1971 at East Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Kingsport, Sullivan Co., TN, Findagrave #124829232.

     Mary Moseley was born circa 1893. She married Dorsey Samuel Davault, son of William Robert Davault and Martha Victoria Cox, on 22 November 1919 at Clayton, St. Louis Co., MO.

     Raymond Herbert Moseley was born on 31 March 1921 at Hawkins Co., TN. He was the son of Rev. John Alfred Moseley and Polly K. Hale. Raymond Herbert Moseley began military service WW II service, U.S. Navy, LCDR. He married Lois Virginia Hawk, daughter of Richard Frank Hawk and Irene Louise Langhorn Bishop, circa 1945. Occupation: Attorney and judge in Chattanooga. Raymond Herbert Moseley died on 12 October 2008 at Chattanooga, Hamilton Co., TN, at age 87. "B", 197th Ohio Infantry. He married Mary Ann Windle, daughter of Abraham Wendel and Mary Ann Brubeck, on 26 March 1865 at Franklin Co., OH. Lebbeus G. Moser died on 31 May 1886 at age 41.
