Barnes died on 22 August 1989 at Houston, Harris Co., TX, at age 86. She was buried in August 1989 at Forest Park East Cemetery, Webster, Harris Co., TX.

     Nora Barnes married Samuel Stover, son of Samuel Stover and Nancy Lee Daugherty, in 1891.¹

     Norris L. Barnes was born in February 1897 at Macon Co., MO.¹ He was the son of Jonathan O. Barnes and Meda C. Windle.¹ Norris L. Barnes married Letha Lewellin, daughter of Edgar L. Lewellin and Lizzie M. Wilkins, on 22 February 1923 at Ethel, Macon Co., MO. Occupation: Railroad Dispatcher in 1930 at Marceline, Linn Co., MO.

     Olive Sarah Barnes was born on 16 July 1884 at Kansas.¹ She married Arthur Louis Alsip circa 1904, Three children born, all living as of the 1910 census.¹ Olive Sarah Barnes died on 12 April 1966 at Tulsa Co., OK, at age 81.

     Rachel Jane Barnes was born on 5 January 1855 at Iowa Co., IA.¹ She was the daughter of Isam Barnes and Deborah Lindamood.¹ Rachel Jane Barnes married Frank Greeley, son of Daniel P. Greeley and Ethelinda Durham, on 22 December 1875 at Marengo, Iowa Co., IA. Rachel Jane Barnes died on 29 August 1945 at Conway, Taylor Co., IA, at age 90

Obituary - Mrs. Rachel Greeley
Rachel [Jane] Barnes, daughter of Isam and Deborah [Lindamood] Barnes, was born Jan. 5, 1855, in Iowa County, Iowa, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Fannie Weller, August 29, 1945, aged 90 years, 8 months and 24 days.

She was married to Frank Greeley, Dec. 22, 1875, at Marengo, Iowa. To them, nine children were born: Millard J. [ames], who died Dec. 4, 1944; Anna Hamilton, who died Dec. 14, 1915; Ida M. [ay] Preston of San Bernardino, California; Harry, who died in infancy; John of San Bernardino; Fannie Weller of Conway; Ethelinda Hadley of Santa Monica, California; Jennie Newkirk of Blockton; and David of Burlington Junction, Mo. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Amanda Robbins, of Bedford.

In 1882 Mr. and Mrs. Greeley came to Taylor County, locating on a farm northwest of Gravity. In early life she was converted and was a charter member of the Gravity Methodist church. She was always a faithful, consistent, Christian mother.

In 1922 they moved to Burlington Junction, Mo., where they resided until 1928, when they came back to Bedford, where Mr. Greeley died Feb. 4, 1936.

Besides her sister and six children, she leaves thirty-one grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren.

She had seven grandsons, three great grandsons and two grandsons-in-law in the service, one of whom, Lt. Alvin Hamilton, made the supreme sacrifice in January 1942 at Corregidor. It was the great joy of her life when she heard the glad news of peace.

She was a great lover of home and sacrificed much for the welfare of her home and family as well as any neighbor, who needed help. She was loved by all who knew her.

The funeral services were held at the Walker-Shum Funeral Home Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. C. W. Proctor of Sharpsburg. The pallbearers were grandsons: Paul Greeley, Ralph Weller, Dale Newkirk, Dean Newkirk, Kenneth Bears and Lt. Frank C. Hadley. Burial was in the Gravity cemetery.

     Rhoda Ann Barnes was born on 18 February 1846 at Greene Co., PA.^1,2 She was the daughter of Thomas A. Barnes and Jane Elizabeth (?)¹ Rhoda Ann Barnes married John Carl Tallman, son of Thomas Bell Tallman and Frances Ann Gillespie, in 1869. Rhoda Ann Barnes died in 1916 at Decatur Co., IA.

     Robert Barnes was the son of William Barnes and Elmira (?)¹ Robert Barnes married Sarah Johnson, daughter of Henry Johnson and Margaret A. Stover, in 1886, No children.¹ Robert Barnes lived in 1926 at Ladoga, Montgomery Co., IN.¹

     Robert Lee Barnes was born on 20 October 1925. He was the son of Norris L. Barnes and Letha Lewellin. Robert Lee Barnes married Shirlea Rae Fletcher, daughter of Harvey R. Fletcher and Marie Myers, on 14 February 1947. Robert Lee Barnes died on 7 July 1999 at Jefferson City, Cole Co., MO, at age 73.

     Sarah Catherine Barnes was born on 5 May 1853 at Iowa Co., IA.¹ She was the daughter of Isam Barnes and Deborah Lindamood.¹ Sarah Catherine Barnes married James Watson Nation, son of John Owen Nation and Isabella C. Watson, on 29 December 1871 at Fontanelle, Adair Co., IA. Sarah Catherine Barnes died on 22 June 1926 at Furnas Co., NE, at age 73

Obituary—Mrs. Sarah Benjamin
Mrs. Sarah Catherine Benjamin was born in Marengo, Iowa County, Iowa, May 5, 1853, and passed away at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Elsie Thompson near Cambridge, Nebraska, July 22, 1926 at 1:30 A. M. at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 17 days.
Her father's name was Isom [Isam] Barnes and her mother's name Deborah Lindewood [Lindamood]. She married Jas. W.[atson] Nation at Fontenelle, Iowa, November 1871, when she was 18 years of age. To this union were born three daughters and two sons, both sons dying in infancy.
From 1871 to 1879 they made their home at Stuart, Iowa, and then moved to Sharpsburg, Taylor County, Iowa. Mr. Nation died April 21, 1894.
Mrs. Nation married George W. Benjamin at Bedford, Iowa, October 16, 1913. They lived here until they moved to Trenton, Nebr., in June 1915 and there made their home until her death.
She leaves to mourn, her husband, three daughters, Cora Sweigard of Oelrichs, S. Dakota, Amanda Sweigard of New Raymer, Colo, and Mrs. Blanche Heatherington of Oakland, Iowa, Also one brother, John Barns of Ashby, Nebr., two sisters, Rachel Greeley of Burlington Junction, Mo. and Mrs. Amanda Robbins of Bedford, Iowa, three step daughters, Myrtle Sterns and Willie Hinkle of Trenton, Nebr., and Mrs. Willie Hinkle of Worland, Wyo., four stepsons, Marion, Tom, Grover and Frank Benjamin, all of Trenton, 31 grand children, 15 great grand children and a host of loving friends.
Mrs. Benjamin was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Sharpsburg, Iowa. As a mother she was loving, as a wife she was true, and as a grandmother, children highly esteemed her. She was loved by her friends and neighbors.
Services were held at the home in Trenton, Rev. A. W. Reper, officiating. Text used Rev. 22:12.
The body was brought back to her old home at Sharpsburg and services held at the Presbyterian Church Sunday July 25th, the Rev. McClellan in charge, and interment was made in the Conway cemetery.

She was buried in June 1926 at Conway Cemetery, Conway, Taylor Co., IA, Findagrave #50601608.

     Vernon L. Barnes was born on 13 June 1898. He was the son of George Henry Barnes and Ida Elizabeth Mapson. Vernon L. Barnes married Edna Mildred Tallman, daughter of Augustus Ralph Tallman and Ida Marquardt, on 21 May 1928. Vernon L. Barnes died on 11 September 1972 at age 74.      Warder Pearl Barnes was born on 31 December 1879 at Richland Co., IL.¹ He was the son of William Barnes and Ida Belle Whittaker. Wendell Reed Barnes married Juanita Estelene Oakley, daughter of Clarence Ebert Oakley and Leota Eleanor DeVault. Wendell Reed Barnes died on 6 October 1983 at Corsicana, Navarro Co., TX, at age 71.

Mrs. Ida Belle Barnes, widow of the late Wm. Barnes, passed away last Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mark Thomson, in south Olney township. She was 71 years of age. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Bethel M. E. church. Besides Mrs. Thomson she is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Ed. Bowen.
