     Charles Niemeier was also known as Charles Nemyer The German surname "Niemeier" morphed to "Nemyer" before or during Charles' lifetime, and is inscribed on his headstone that way. He was born on 25 March 1863 at Bath Twp., Greene Co., OH.1,2 He was the son of Lewis Niemeier and Maria Catherina Elizabeth Semmler.1 Charles Niemeier married Louisa F. Beisner, daughter of August William Beisner and Wilhelmina Endorff, circa 1892 at Darke Co. (probably), OH, No children born to the marriage as of 1900 census. Charles and Lizzie apparently took her brother Henry Beisner's two daughters into their home to raise shortly after the 1900 census, after their mother was institutionalized at the Dayton State Hospital. Louisa's newspaper obituary lists them as her daughters.2

Charles Niemeier died on 10 August 1924 at Darke Co., OH, at age 61. He was buried in August 1924 at Saint Johns Lutheran Church Cemetery, Greenville, Darke Co., OH, Findagrave #194335891.

Joan L. Silver, 85, of Central City, passed away in her home on Thursday, July 12, 2018.

Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service held. A Celebration of Joan’s Life with family and friends will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., on Sunday, August 19, 2018, in the Woodpecker Lodge, located at 1850 Woodpecker Hill, at Pinicon Ridge Park, Central City. A private burial will be at Mt. Clark Cemetery, Central City.

Joan was born June 8, 1933, to Glen and Marjorie (Ross) Nightingale. She lived her entire life in or near Central City. She was a 1951 graduate of Central City High School, marrying Ralph E. Silver in October that year. They spent their life together in a home they built near the Boy Scout Camp north of Waubeek. They raised four children there: Susan (Ed) Dolan of Central City, Steven (Linda) of Hiawatha, Sterling (Tammy) of Anamosa and Stephanie (Bill Hall) of Central City.

Joan was a stay-at-home mother until her children were in school. She worked at Central City School as a teacher’s aide and bus driver for many years. Later she worked for Transport America. She often said, “I’ve driven more miles backwards than you have forwards!”

She was a great cook, enjoyed sewing, quilting and making jewelry. She loved listening to Willie and George Strait and watching RFD-TV.

In addition to her four children and their spouses, Joan leaves behind four grandchildren: April (Kenny) Kreitner, Brenda Hayes (Brian Hamed), Judy (Jeff) Marshall, and J.R. Hall (Kelsey Walton) and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Ralph.
