Rev. Michael Nuss1
M, b. 6 September 1826, d. 26 July 1920
Rev. Michael Nuss was born on 6 September 1826 at Lehigh Co., PA.1 He was the son of Michael Nuss and Susan Crumas.1 Rev. Michael Nuss married Matilda Weidner, daughter of William Weidner and Elizabeth Harlacher.1 Rev. Michael Nuss died on 26 July 1920 at age 93 Mr. Nuss was born in Lehigh Co., Pa; was mustered into U.S. service at Phila. Nov. 7, 1862, and honorably discharged in Aug. 1863. He went with his family to Wisconsin at the close of the Civil War, settling on a farm and remained there all his life. He often made trips with horse and buckboard to the surrounding localities and also to more distant points, preaching the Gospel as a supply, for four or five weeks at a time. Several churches (Methodist) were dedicated during his pastorate. At other times he would feel pressed to earn more money than by preaching and would do mason work and tailoring. He was a tailor by trade and was a fine workman until his hands became benumbed and his eyes dimmed by age. He was a member of Harrison Post, G.A.R; a member of the Methodist church and in politics a Republican. He was of a very happy, contented disposition and greatly endeared himself to all who knew him.
