     Jesse M. Patton was born circa 1877 at Princeton, Mercer Co. (probably), MO.¹ She was the daughter of Abraham R. Patton and Sarah Braffet.¹

     Note: According to Kurt Miller, John Patton's daughter wrote that John lost his father at an early age, that his mother remarried and John left home in his early teens. John Patton was born on 16 April 1816 at Ohio. He married Sarah Randall, daughter of Abraham Randell and Margaret Starr, on 4 May 1844 at Shelby Co., OH. John Patton died on 10 October 1885 at age 69.

     John Patton was born on 11 June 1832. He married Caroline Patton, daughter of James Patton and Lucy (?), circa 1856 at Juniata Co. (probably), PA. John Patton died on 15 August 1915 at age 83.

     John E. Patton was born on 3 March 1917. He was the son of Julian Nelson Patton and Kittie Elizabeth Earnest. John E. Patton died on 24 March 1917. He was buried in March 1917 at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Chuckey, Greene Co., TN, Find A Grave Memorial# 70912563.

(probably), CA.¹ He was the son of Henry Walker Patton and Betty Wall Cloud.¹ Julian Nelson Patton married Kittie Elizabeth Earnest, daughter of Isaac Reeve Earnest and Tulen Vilosso Snapp, on 10 January 1912 at Greene Co., TN. Julian Nelson Patton died on 17 June 1961 at age 77. He was buried in June 1961 at Cedar Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery, Chuckey, Greene Co., TN, Find A Grave Memorial# 70912555.

     Lacy Livingston Patton was born on 30 March 1907 at North Carolina. She was the daughter of George Edgar Patton and Mary Willis Scott.

     Lemma F. Patton was also known as "Frank". He was born in February 1894 at Nuckolls Co. (probably), NE.¹ He was the son of George Edgar Patton and Clara Olive Windle. Lemma F. Patton married Emma Frances Matheny, daughter of Grant Matheny and Alpha R. (?), circa 1904 at Comanche Co. (probably), OK.² Lemma F. Patton lived in 1950 at Tonkawa, Kay Co., OK, Per George Patton's obituary. He lived in December 1958 at Guatemala, Per Clara's obituary.

     Leo Clifford Patton was born on 6 April 1919. He was the son of Reese Lee Patton and Edith I. Hawkins.

     Mary Jane Patton was born on 29 July 1846 at Ohio. She was the daughter of Thomas Patton and Rachel Randell.

This was probably from Auglaize Co., Ohio, where Thomas Patton is found in the 1850 census. Mary Jane Patton married John Lyle Powell on 17 March 1871 at Mercer Co., MO. Mary Jane Patton died on 26 January 1930 at Princeton, Mercer Co., MO, at age 83.

     Mary Willis Patton was born on 24 February 1918 at Greene Co., TN.¹ She was the daughter of Julian Nelson Patton and Kittie Elizabeth Earnest.¹ Mary Willis Patton married Glenneth Pierson Shelton, son of Rev. Chapelle Shelton and Martha Jane Shelton, on 24 December 1936 at Greene Co., TN. Mary Willis Patton lived on 9 May 1940 at Civil District 13, Greene Co., TN.² She and Glenneth Pierson Shelton were divorced before November 1953. Mary Willis Patton married Hubert Burgess. Mary Willis Patton died on 9 February 2013 at age 94 Obituary (findagrave.com):

Mary W. Patton Shelton Burgess, age 94, of Tusculum and Horse Creek Communities, passed away early Saturday morning (February 9, 2013) at Laughlin Memorial Hospital.

She was a longtime member of Oak Grove Free Will Baptist Church. She was a descendent of the Earnest Family and loved talking about her heritage. She was a loving, devoted Christian mother to her five children whom she loved very much and was a caregiver to her mother and father for many years. She loved flowers and gardening and was known for her beautiful smile.

Survivors include her four daughters and sons-in-law: Rebecca Bowers of Chuckey, Barbara and James Lovelace of Virginia, Joann and John Foster of Tusculum, Phyllis and Wallace Kirk of Mosheim; one son and daughter-in-law: Kelsey and Joyce Shelton of Tusculum; grandchildren: Eva and Alan Campbell, Sandy and Mike McInturff, Mary and Mike Mack, Julie and Bill Renner, David and Pam Bowers, Bryan and Lisa Kirk, Todd and Mindi Kirk, Wayne and Jodi Shelton, Paul Shelton, Steven Lovelace, Belinda Lovelace, Melanie and Joe Bowman, Jane and Andy Easterly, Joy and Greg Broyles; great-grandchildren: Chad and Jolene Campbell, Jeff and Halie Campbell, Lynna and Clint Bingham, Steven McInturff, Amanda and Chris Brooks, Logan Mack, Allan and Jamie Cutshall, Blake Bowers, Justin and Ashley Kirk, Alex and Alivia Kirk, Abigail Shelton, Karlee Lovelace, Joseph Bowman IV, Melinda Bowman, Adamson Easterly, and Erika Easterly; 4 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Juanita Patton Jones and Maybrey G'Fellers; brother-in-law: Paul Shelton; several nieces and nephews; the father of her children: Glen Shelton; and her special caregiver, Janice Knipp.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Hubert Burgess; parents: Julian and Kitty Earnest Patton; son-in-law: Rev. James Bowers; three brothers: Sam Patton, Henry Patton, and infant John Patton; one infant sister: Rebecca Patton.

     Mattie M. Patton was born on 17 April 1870. She was the daughter of John Patton and Caroline Patton. Mattie M. Patton married William Henry Burr.
