Mrs. Grubb is the daughter of Albert Edward and Nancy Lydia Wharton Battles.
She attended LaBelle schools and Hannibal-LaGrange College. On June 23, 1926, she was married in Quincy, IL to Samuel H. Grubb.
A resident of the Hunnewell area for 60 years, she was a member of the Baptist church, Hunnewell Chapter No. 149, OES and the Hunnewell Rebekah Lodge.

Mrs. Grubb passed away after being struck by a Burlington freight train No. 68.

Surviving are one son George and four daughters, Anna Mae Margaret, Louise and Vivien. One brother and two sisters, nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

She was buried in January 1966 at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Hunnewell, Shelby Co., MO, Findagrave #129786400.

MASSILLON -- Frances McConnell, 98, of Massillon, died Thursday (Nov. 2, 2012) at Altercare of Nobles Pond.

She was born March 9, 1914, in Guernsey County, daughter of the late John and Barbara Batik.

Mrs. McConnell moved to Massillon in 1975, and attended Central Presbyterian in Massillon, and was a member of the Massillon Women's Club and Massillon Heritage Foundation.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph McConnell; and two brothers and four sisters.

She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Nancy (Bob) Thatcher of Massillon; son, William (Kim) McConnell of High Springs, Fla; grandson, Daniel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staff of the Inn at University Village, Altercare of Nobles Pond and Crossroads Hospice for their wonderful care and help.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5 with the Rev. Larry Lalama officiating in Old Washington Cemetery in Old Washington.
