Jerry W. Peterson, Sr., 62, of Cahokia, Illinois, born January 18, 1950 in Campbell, Missouri, died Sunday, April 15, 2012, at his residence.
Jerry was a U.S. Army Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his father, Samuel Peterson.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy K. Peterson, nee Bevelot; two sons, Jerry (Lisa) Peterson, Jr. of Valmeyer, IL. and Bobby Peterson of Cahokia, IL; his mother, Flora Mae Peterson of Morton, IL; two brothers, William (Sharon) Peterson of New Franklin, MO., Gary (Diane) Peterson of Cahokia, IL; three sisters, Hazel (Bob) Smith of Morton, IL., Debbie Peterson of St. Louis, MO., and Sandy (Kevin) Suminski of Taylor, MI; three grandchildren, Kylie, Cory and Makayla Kaye. He was a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.

She is survived by her husband; Phoukham (Eric) Sayarinh of Springdale, three daughters; Amy Sayarinh, Kelly (Sayarinh) Larios, Angela Sayarinh of Springdale, Arkansas, two sons; Jason and Andrew Sayarinh of Springdale, Arkansas, six sisters; Susan Wallace of Edwardsville, Illinois, Lola Nichols of Galesburg, Illinois, Luanne Brackett of Washington, Lori Pierce of Olathe, Kansas, Arkansas, Leslie Pachter of Denver, North Carolina, Ginger Noetzol of Pekin, Illinois, six brothers; Mark Peterson of Pekin, Illinois, Douglas Peterson of Peoria, Illinois, Timothy Peterson of Chillicothe, Illinois, Chris Peterson of Peoria, Illinois, Bruce Peterson of Katy, Texas, Larry Peterson of Fayetteville, Arkansas and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, August 23, 2008, in the Chapel of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home with Pastor Red Dixon officiating. Mabel I. Wheatley, 93, 1015 Lewis, died Friday, Nov. 9, 1990, at College Park Health Care Center.

Mrs. Wheatley was born Mabel Peterson on Sep. 2, 1897, at Gypsum and moved to Salina in 1956. She was a homemaker. She had worked as a bookkeeper in her husband's lumber and grain business in Gypsum and for several businesses in Salina. She was a member of Sunrise Presbyterian Church, the Sweet Adelines, American Business Women's Association, Lionesses of Salina and Gypsum and the Good Housekeepers. She worked with the Red Cross Blood Mobile for 30 years and was a nurses aide at Asbury-Salina Regional Medical Center for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Uhl Wheatley, and a daughter, Phyllis Burch.

Survivors include three sons, Quentin D. of Lewiston, N.Y., Melford M. of Mt. Clemens, Mich., and Pierce U. of Santa Maria, Calif; a sister, Vera Rosene of Wichita; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Sunrise Presbyterian Church, Robert Lay officiating. Burial will be in the Williamsburg Mausoleum at Roselawn Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to the church. Visitation will be afternoon today at Ryan Mortuary.
