Jerold William Puckett, age 74, 923 South Broadway, died Wednesday approximately 7 p.m. at Wetumka. He was born in Holdenville March 6, 1909.
He grew up in Holdenville and lived here most of his life. He was a member of the First Christian church and the Holdenville Masonic Lodge. He retired in 1978. He owned and operated the Puckett Grocery Store 18 years. He was married to Lorene Catherine Sherry in Holdenville March 9, 1930. Survivors are his widow, Lorene of the home; one daughter, Margaret Shields, Daingerfield, Tex. One son Ed Puckett of Cushing; two grandsons, Russell Shields, Dangerfield, Tex., and Brian Puckett Cushing; two granddaughters, Amanda Puckett, Cushing and Erica Shields, Dangerfield, Tex; one sister, Eldine Nichols of Holdenville, one brother, Gene Puckett. preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday with pastor Lawrence Kruger officiating. Burial will be in
Holdenville cemetery, under direction of Hudson Funeral Home.

Ralph Pillow Puckett, 84, of Railview Road, Naruna, passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2006 at his home.

Mr. Puckett was born in Campbell County, November 2, 1921, son of the late Richard Jennings Puckett and Lillie Pillow Puckett. He was a member of Falling River Baptist Church and a retired truck driver.

He is survived by one brother, Grey H. Puckett Sr. and wife Wilsie of Naruna; one sister, Christine P. Fleshman of Brookneal; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 21, 2006 in Henderson Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Joey Anthony. Interment followed in Falling River Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pucketts Celebrate 62nd Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. T.C. Puckett, who own and operate the Broadway Grocery, 512 South Broadway celebrated
their 62nd Wedding anniversary Saturday. They were married March 7, 1907, buying their marriage license at
Wewoka, Indian Territory. In April, 1929 they moved to their present home and operated their little grocery store which is in one room of their house and across the street from Park View School. Theirs is one of the few stores who still sell penny candy, sometimes having 30 or 40 different kinds to the delight of the children who attend Park View School. For forty years Mrs. Puckett has mothered the Park View children. Binding up skinned knees, wiping noses, calling parents for children and calming the fears of little first graders. Before the school started serving lunches, she made and sold hamburgers. Almost every week visitors from "all over" who used to attend Park View, stop by to see the Pucketts. Many times they bring their children or grandchildren by to purchase "penny candy" from the same candy case that they did when they were children.
Mr. and Mrs. Puckett are the parents Mrs. Herman Apple, her twin brother Gene Puckett, Tulsa and Jerold Puckett, City. The Pucketts are both 81 years old and very active. Thomas Clifford Puckett died on 12 February 1972 at Holdenville, Hughes Co., OK, at age 83 HOLDENVILLE DAILY NEWS

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday for Thomas Clifford Puckett, 612 S. Broadway, who died in
Holdenville General Hospital Saturday morning at the age of 82. Rev. Harrell Rodebush officiated in the Nazarene church. Burial was in Holdenville Cemetery, under direction of Hudson funeral Home. Mr. Puckett was born in Hunt County, Texas, Sept. 18, 1888. He came to this county before 1895 and had been in ;the grocery business here since 1929. He was married to Bessie Petete March 9, 1907 in Indian Territory. Survivors are: his widow Bessie Puckett of the home; two sons, Jerold Puckett of Holdenville and Eugene Puckett of Tulsa; one daughter Mrs. Herman (Eldine) Apple of Holdenville, three grandsons; three
granddaughters; three great-granddaughters and one niece, Mrs. Borden of Galveston, Texas.

Services Will Be Held Mon. For Puckett
The 10 a. m. services Monday for Ens. Thomas Gene Puckett, to be held in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, will be preceded by an 8 a. m. Requiem Eucharist. The Rev. Harry Robinson, vicar of St. Paul’s Church, Will be the Celebrant for the Holy Communion and will also conduct the final rites. Ens. Puckett, who was based at Pensacola, Fla., was killed in a plane crash in Escambia County, Ala., November 19, His body was escorted to Holdenville by Ens. John M. Hood, U.S. Navy. The widow, Patricia, survives. Others survivors include one brother, Bob Trammell, one sister, Sally Trammell, and his mother, Mrs. Bob Trammell, all of DeQueen , Ark; a step-sister, Jane Collins, Chicago, Ill; his father, Gene Puckett of Tulsa; Maternal grandmother, Mrs. W. J. McElwee, Wetumka; Paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Puckett, one uncle, Jerold Puckett, and one aunt, Mrs..Herman Apple, all of Holdenville.
Puckett will be buried in Holdenville cemetery with Naval Military honors by personnel from the naval depot at McAlester. Active bearers will be Jerry Apple, Gary Middleton, Bill Warren, Theo Maloy, Tommy Treadwell, Bill Huser, and Roddie Stirman. Interment is under the direction of Hobgood Funeral Home. A member of the family stated that in lieu of flowers. Friends may make offerings to St. Paul’s Memorial fund in memory of Tommy Puckett. Puckett was born July 16, 1940 in Holdenville, Ok. He lived in Holdenville all his life and attended
Holdenville schools, graduating in 1958 with high honors. He was active in sports, attended Boy’s State, and
in his senior year was Oklahoma State president of Student Council and the state’s delegate that year to the
national convention in Virginia. He entered Austin College, Sherman, Texas where he was elected president of the Freshman class and lettered
in football.

     Marvin Puderbaugh was born on 25 March 1905. He married Vera Mabel Oldaker, daughter of Alvin Nathan Oldaker and Ethel Ella Tallman. Marvin Puderbaugh died on 3 April 1993 at Clackamas Co., OR, at age 88 Dates per SSDI, last residence Portland.

     Jordan A. Pugh was born on 11 June 1818 at Cincinnati, Hamilton Co, OH; son of Lot and Rachel Ann (Anthony) Pugh. He married Laura Genevieve Hensley, daughter of Dr. Alexander Culbertson Hensley, on 13 April 1847 at New York City, NY, no children. Jordan A. Pugh died on 4 March 1849 at New Orleans, Orleans Par., LA, at age 30. He was buried in March 1849 at Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH, Findagrave #53157139.

     Mary Pugh was born on 8 June 1831 at Ohio. She married George Naylor Webster on 1 November 1846 at Highland Co., OH. Mary Pugh died on 20 June 1915 at age 84. She was buried in June 1915 at Stroup Cemetery, Dodsonville, Highland Co., OH, Find A Grave Memorial# 29632874.
