Levi was from Brush Creek Twp., Highland County, Ohio and by 1870 he was living and farming in Benton Twp., Pike County, Ohio. Catherine died in Pike County, after which Levi moved back to Jeffersonville where he died.
John married Euclid Freeman July 4, 1895 and was thought to have had two daughters who died before 1900 but this info is not yet confirmed. John and Euclid appear on the 1900 census for Findlay, Hancock County, Ohio records. Euclid died before 1905, where and when is not yet known. In 1905, John moved to Iowa and started his “second life”.
John Cary Rhoades married Mead Roush Feb. 21, 1906, who was the daughter of Asa Roush 1854 - 1933 and Lucinda Catherine Clark 1859 - 1929. John and Mead had the following children: Forest E. 1906 - 1966, Luvena M. 1908 - 2006, A. C. 1913 - 1991, Bertesen L. 1916 - 1997 and Minnie D. 1918 - unknown death date.

John Cary’s brother, William S. 1855 - 1915 moved to Lucas County, Ohio, Ira D. 1877 - 1926 moved to Lake County, Ohio, Jacob D. (Dawson) 1865 - 1948 lived with Ira and or his son Clarence. Jacob died at Galion, Ohio but was buried in Lake County, Ohio. Jacob Dawson Rhoades was the person that Jake Thorn says he was named after. Nancy Jane 1863 - 1929 married Ira Beekman and they lived in Pike County, Ohio.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today in First Assembly of God with the Rev. Damon Akins, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Northlawn Memorial Gardens.
Johnnie was born July 17, 1939, in Holdenville, Okla., to T.H. "Pokey" and Martha Rhoades. On March 28, 1987, he married Pauletta McAlister Sullins. He retired in September 1997 from Natural Gas Pipeline after 36 years of service. He transported cars for local car dealerships for 10 years.
Johnnie had been a resident of Dumas for more than 30 years and was a member of First Assembly of God. Johnnie was a loving husband, father and Papa. He enjoyed golf and fishing, but most of all, his kids and grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George Wayne Rhoades.
Survivors include his wife, Pauletta; three daughters, Pam Farni and husband Danny and Vickie Holt and husband Gary, all of Dumas, and Sharlet Muskrat and husband Terry of Porum, Okla; two sons, Rowdy Rhoades and wife Cindy and Joel Sullins and wife Denae, all of Dumas; two brothers, Jimmie Rhoades and wife Joyce of Woodward, Okla., and Sandy Rhoades of Dumas; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved pet, Dexter.
The family suggests memorials be to First Assembly of God, P.O. Box 764, Dumas, TX 79029.
He was buried in September 2007 at Northlawn Memorial Gardens, Dumas, Moore Co., TX, Findagrave #21890710.
