He married Patty Jean Cooley, daughter of Lawrence Edgar Cooley and Edna Mae Linthicum, on 7 May 1953 at Cook Co., IL, Patty was first married to a Hans, about 1947, but resumed using her maiden name before 1953. After her brief marriage to Hugh Rice (he remarried in 1958), she subsequently was married to a Nelson about 1958, and a Richards about 1969, per SS Applications and Claims Index.

Hugh Thomas Rice died on 7 July 1991 at Wilton, La Crosse Co., WI, at age 67.

     Ida Rice was born circa 1858 at Shenandoah Co. (probably), VA, Ida was living in 1860 -- age of 9 given in 1870 census appears unreliable.^1,2 She was the daughter of John Harper Rice and Harriet Elizabeth Windle.

     Ivan Orren Rice was also known as "Ike". He was born on 15 October 1907 at Mt. Idaho, Idaho Co., ID. He was the son of Walter Sylvester Rice and Ada May Smith. Ivan Orren Rice married Florence Alma Butcher, daughter of Eben William Butcher and Anna Lydia Turnbull, on 18 July 1931 at Asotin, Asotin Co., WA. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Lynn and a grandson Hyton Jones.

Served with the Indiana National Guard.

Lee was semi retired after farming and raising cattle for 68 years. He worked several years at R.R. Donnelley as a ‘pressman’ and was a sales representative for Garst Hybrid Seeds for over 40 years.

He enjoyed raising cattle and was a supporter of the 4-H program.

Lee was active in Hillsboro Masonic Lodge #385, Moose Lodge #6, American Legion Post 72 and Eagles all of Crawfordsville.

Funeral service 11am Wednesday, February 8 at Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate with Pastor Craig Carrell officiating.

Visitation 5-8pm Tuesday with a "Broken Circle Ceremony" by Moose Lodge #6 at the conclusion of the visitation, closing with a Masonic Service by F&AM Lodge #385, and one hour prior to service.

SERVICES HELD FOR FORMER RESIDENT

Services were held in Shawnee, Oklahoma recently at the First Baptist Church for Mrs. Charles Marshall (Minnie) Ross, who died of a heart attack on January 25, 1965 in Shawnee at the age of 69.

She was a music teacher and prominent in church and club activities in Shawnee. She was born August 8, 1895 in Springdale, Arkansas, where she married Charles Marshall Ross, former Wagoner resident, there in 1928.

Survivors include her husband, Marshall; one son, Carl Ross of Reseda, California; one sister, Mrs. Lillard (Clara) Bolls, Sr. of Conway, Arkansas; and two grandsons, Douglas and Loyd Ross, both of Peseda, California.

Mrs. Ross was a sister-in-law of Mrs. James Searcy of Coweta, Oklahoma.

Burial was in Shawnee's Resthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
