80, of Denver died May 15. Services were May 18 in Christ Episcopal Church. Burial was in Fairmount Cemetery. Mrs. Childs, a Denver native, was a homemaker.

She was active in the Perennial Garden Club of Denver and Garden Club of America. Survivors include her husband, Dr. Samuel Childs; a daughter, Eve Best of Louisville; and two grandchildren.

TEACHER SUFFERS SKULL FRACTURE

Miss Ethel Rinker Injured While on Sightseeing Trip in Grand Canyon

TAYLORVILLE, Aug. 23 – Miss Ethel Rinker, teacher in the Memorial Junior High school suffered a fractured skull when she was knocked from a donkey that she was riding through the grand canyon in Arizona, according to word received by her brother H. R. Rinker, city, today. Miss Rinker was removed to a nearby hospital in an unconscious condition. She will be able to return home in two weeks.

The automobile was driven by an Indian. He was captured several hours after his car struck the school teacher. A bottle, half filled with liquor, was found in his car. He was arrested and sentenced to 40 days in jail and fined $100. Miss Rinker was visiting Mrs. Leonore Drennan Myers in Windsor, Ariz., when the accident occurred.

She married Glenn Franklin Weckerly on 12 March 1935 at Arizona, Arizona marriage license application dated 12 MAR 1935. Ethlyn Orr Rinker died on 29 March 1981 at age 76. Note: Multiple newspaper articles in December, 1930, reported the engangement of Ethlyn to Myron W. Martin of Clarksburg, West Virginia. The marriage was reported to be planned for the spring of 1931. No evidence of an actual marriage found.

     John Rinker was born in 1830 at Shenandoah Co., VA.¹ He was the son of Benjamin Dellinger Rinker.¹ John Rinker married Delilah Maxon on 22 May 1856 at Clark Co., OH; this marriage broke up sometime after the 1860 census and before the summer of 1870, when Delilah was listed living at Tremont Station in Clark County, Ohio, with a young married couple, Henry and Sarah Wise, in her household. John Rinker was not found in the 1870 census -- he had apparently abandoned Delilah and remarried by then. A legal divorce may or may not have occurred. Delilah remarried to Frederick Jenkins (1839 - 1912) on 13 MAR 1877, Clark County, Ohio. DLB 2021.
