Miss Ethel Rinker Injured While on Sightseeing Trip in Grand Canyon
TAYLORVILLE, Aug. 23 – Miss Ethel Rinker, teacher in the Memorial Junior High school suffered a fractured skull when she was knocked from a donkey that she was riding through the grand canyon in Arizona, according to word received by her brother H. R. Rinker, city, today. Miss Rinker was removed to a nearby hospital in an unconscious condition. She will be able to return home in two weeks.
The automobile was driven by an Indian. He was captured several hours after his car struck the school teacher. A bottle, half filled with liquor, was found in his car. He was arrested and sentenced to 40 days in jail and fined $100. Miss Rinker was visiting Mrs. Leonore Drennan Myers in Windsor, Ariz., when the accident occurred.
