VAN BRUNT

Eugenia Rogero Van Brunt, 92, passed away on Monday, February 23, 2004 at home after a brief illness. She was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, were (sic) she was a charter member of Southside United Methodist Church and the Graves Sunday School Class. Her husband of 51 years, Richard W. Van Brunt predeceased her in 1989.

She is survived by her children, Richard W. Van Brunt, Jr. (Linda), Goose Creek, SC and Susan V. Joseph (Lee), Jacksonville; 4 granddaughters, Karen Rowell, Kim Pond, Christine Newnam & Jennifer Joseph; 2 step granddaughters, Jennifer Bowen and Amy Clauson; 4 great grandchildren and 5 step-gerat grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM at NAUGLE FUNERAL HOME. Rogers married Anna Mae Wolfe, daughter of Erasmus Wolfe and Elizabeth Miller, in 1892 at Preston Co., WV. Charles L. Rogers died on 13 August 1923 at age 53. Charley Rogers, son of the late Tom Lewis Rogers and Lillie Bell Stark Rogers, was born April 4, 1916, in Wirth, AR. He died April 4, 2004, in Salem, AR, at the age of 88 years.

He was a volunteer fireman and electrician in Thayer, MO. He was a master plumber doing contract work in Missouri and Arkansas in and around Thayer.

He was a member of Assembly of God Church in Salem, AR.

He was a loving father, grandfather, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors are two sons, Paul Rogers and wife, Betty of Horseshoe Bend, AR and Thomas Rogers and wife, Susan, of Salem, AR; a daughter, Charlene Worsham and husband, Bill, of Salem, AR; step-son, Michael Rogers and wife, Elsie of St. Charles, MO; step-daughter, Lana Clark and husband, Roger, of Quincy, IL; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Sarah Watson of Thayer, MO and Flora Schaufler of West Plains, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lehman and Fred Rogers; two sisters, Ethel Gregory and an infant sister.

The funeral was April 7 at Carter Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William Huggart officiating. Burial was in Rose Hill Cemetery at Thayer with arrangements by Carter Funeral Home Inc. of Thayer.

Pallbearers were Jim Mefford, Woodrow Hodges, George Walling, Randy Robinson, Justin Sisk and George Seaberry.

Donald E. Rogers

Auburn-Donald E. Rogers 65, of Auburn died Friday, June 20 2003, at Memorial Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 24, 1937, in Auburn, the son of Lance "Tip" and Grace Denning Rogers. He married Beverly Fuller in 1959 in Auburn; she died in 1997.

Mr. Rogers graduated from Auburn High School and retired from Hobbs Manufacturing Co. in 2001 after 44 years. He was a member of the Auburn Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors: a daughter, Gaetana (husband John) Thirlwall of Auburn; a son Phillip (wife, Carol) Rogers of Auburn; four grandchildren; a sister Phyllis (husband Ralph) White of Auburn; an aunt and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Auburn Cemetery, the Rev. Estell Jones officating.
